Bad week in Dallas extends to Cowboys' website

The day after one of the most embarrassing losses in franchise history, the Cowboys are missing out on the spike in traffic that would have occurred at DallasCowboys.com, given the firing of coach Wade Phillips. As it turns out, someone allowed the registration of the domain name to expire. Though the Cowboys will have an opportunity to rectify the situation before someone else can squat on the site, the address currently points to the Network Solutions website.

Bottom line? It looks like someone other that Wade should be providing a "vivid example of accountability" today.

Haha. I haven't had a chance to actually go to the site until now. I've read about posters here having problems. Then I see that the site's domain had expired.

I highly doubt the domain expired today. The site is just having DNN problems. As of now, the domain is set to expire in 2020-- I do not know when it was last renewed, however.

Yeah even after I flush my DNS cache I still get the Network Solutions Landing Page.

dallascowboys.com resolves to this IP: 209.62.105.19 which is hosted by "The Planet"

If you try and bypass DNS and type in http://209.62.105.19 you get redirected to searchmagnified.com which is IP address: 209.85.51.47

I'm guessing they changed hosts and it hasn't propagated to all the DNS servers out there yet.

If you use OpenDNS or Google's public DNS servers, it shows up fine. So, it's not a case of not paying the bill or letting the domain lapse. They changed hosts. It happens.

If the DNS registrar expired the domain and it had already propagated out the change and only today did the domain get re-instated, it may take a day or two before it fully propogates through the Internet.

You never switch hosts on the day you create world wide news. Usually you make the change during a down time. Which a normal Monday might be but it looks like somebody forgot to tell them they were firing a coach today

What a bunch of BS PFT is throwing up to make the Dallas Cowboys look worse. This has NOTHING to do w/ domain registration whatsoever and everything to do w/ DNS and propigation. It takes 48-72 hrs once you change hosts for updates to be pushed world.

I'm still not able to get on the site. I checked it 3 minutes ago and it still goes to that Solutions page every time I try to go there.
