APThough guys like Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continue to insist that the players don’t need to see financial information to verify the league’s claim that profits are down, other teams have expressed a willingness to open the books.

The Broncos have said they’ll do it. And now the Bears have joined the two-team chorus. (Three counting the Packers, who are publicly owned and thus must disclose their financial information.)

How long before Jerry gets in line on this to get in good headlines I wonder? Or does he even consider?

Jerry isn't ever going to want to show all the Cowboys financial information.

Jerry hold your ground and the players will fold. Break them you must...

The owners all want to see the detailed breakdowns of every other team's financial matters too.

I've been saying it for a while, this is really owner vs. owner in a lot of ways but they're sticking together until they're forced to start looking out for #1.

If the reason to look at the books is to show that some teams are not doing well, then there is no reason to look at Jerry's books.

While it's possible that Jerry Jones simply doesn't want other team owners to see financial stats, it also entirely possible there 2 other reasons:

1. He's doing heck of a lot better then he wants Cowboys fans and others to know, or

2. Funding the new stadium has seriously lessened his holdings to the point financial/banking institutions might increase his interest rates cause he would be perceived as more of a risk then previously known.

No chance. Jerry's books would sink the owners. They need Jacksonville, Buffalo, and the like, not the big money earners.

I wouldn't open any of them, but this is their choice.

Jerruh would show them just how to make money. That would be a real kick in the teeth of those like Cinci, Buffalo, etc. Now there are some places that they probably cannot make a big profit. Or even a small one. Dallas is an example of a team that does not need to show its books.
