I think a lot of people think the same thing I've been saying for over 10 years and that is Brady was the main reason for the Patriot's success more so than Belichick.

My guess is Belichick is using the North Carolina job to trigger possible 2025 interested NFL teams into contacting him now instead of waiting until after the season is over.

Yet people are saying that he and Jerry have a good relationship. If it's so good, why not calls, group hangout to the alcohol store Jerry drinks from before press conferences! lol

Of the open jobs right now I'm not sure any of them seem like a great fit for Bill. I would assume Chicago is going to go the offensive guru route. Bill doesn't seem to have a good relationship with Jets owner Woody Johnson, and the Saints look like they are headed for a pretty heavy tear down. If any team has interest in Bill I would assume its a team on their way up and probably has a legitimate veteran QB in place.

Inn the middle of the season?

I think Belichick's market will be limited to begin with. First, his age may be a problem. Then, there are those who think he owes his success to Tom Brady. I think that is true to some extent, but not totally. Belichick had some good defenses too and that was not about Brady. It is odd how Belichick suffers from that logic, but Bill Walsh didn't. Walsh coached the 49ers in the 1980s with Joe Montana as his QB and Jerry Rice at WR. True he drafted those players, but so did Belichick draft Tom Brady. Walsh went 2-14 his first year with SF, then 6-10 his second year, the year Montana first started as the QB.

Jerry seems like he's in a you-call-us stage of life. That seemed to be part of the team's approach with players this offseason.

Marv Levy retired as the Bills' head coach at age 72. Bill Belichick is trying to get hired again as an NFL head coach at 73.

Perhaps Levy can become Belichick's offensive coordinator after he gets his next gig. Levy's only 99.

The boys are back in town! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Neither does Landry, who only won Super Bowls with Staubach. Reid has only won Super Bowls with Mahomes. Etc. Jimmy only won with Aikman. I don't understand the argument.

Don’t know why he’s surprised when he’s older than some of the owners and never won anything as an HC without Tom Brady. He must be desperate to coach if he’s looking at a college job. Can’t imagine him on the recruiting trail at his age.

One nugget suggested the Jags since their owner is desperate but I doubt any of these young GMs will bring him in and take a chance on losing a power struggle if they start winning. Noticed they mentioned Blank was ready to hire him this season but others talked him out of it.

Depending on your view of their QB that would be a very interesting job too. A ton of draft picks this year and it appears they have some cap space to play with as well. That may be one of the more attractive jobs in the league...oddly.

I'm curious......what age has to do with the experience he brings to the table as long as he's healthy? I know some have mentioned relating to players but head coaches don't have a ton of interaction with players.

I think you would need to hear comments from teams as to why there is a lack of interest otherwise it's just speculation

Most teams are looking for a HC to develop a young QB and that's not Bill. Nobody care about defense anymore. All the new rules and player protection favors the offense.

I agree with this. Belichick has had absolutely 0 success without Brady at QB. Added to that, he only lucked into Brady. He only started after Bledsoe was blown up and knocked out of the game. If that injury didn't happen, who knows what the NFL would've looked like over the past 20 years or so.

I doubt any team will conduct head coaching searches right now, at least reaching out to guys-probably just internal meetings. Even if it's no secret their HC is a dead man walking.

IIRC only the Jets have an intern coach, and I think there's a 0.0000001% chance the Jets hire Bill B again as their HC lol.
