For the first time, I'm starting to believe he likely won't survive a losing season. The criticism is reaching an epic level nationally that could very well force Jerry's hand.

Who’s on the hot seat, halfway through the season?

Week Nine has ended, which means that all teams have played at least eight games. One of those teams already has fired its coach. History says at least several more will do the same.

So who’s in trouble with eight weeks left in the season?

In no particular order, here’s a list of the guys who currently could be learning in less than eight weeks that their services no longer will be needed.

Jason Garrett, Cowboys: There’s a growing belief in league circles that, if the Cowboys don’t make it to the playoffs, Garrett will be gone. The real question is whether owner Jerry Jones would hire an A-list, type-A replacement or another B-level coach who will gladly let Jones be the actual or perceived puppeteer

I’m a fan of him as a coach for us, but it makes sense if the team misses the playoffs again, and especially if their overall record dips for the second year in a row.

Then we’ll get to see if the issues are with the coaching or if it turns out the issues are with management/personnel, right?

I believe the issue is both, and will be again since the GM who keeps hiring/firing coaches never gets fired and is not going to hire a coach who is "bigger" than him.

You're going to get one, even if you don't want one.

This team is going to lose at least 10 games.
If that's the case then the Raiders should be thrilled to have our first round draft pick.

He will probably be gone, they will try to jump start the QB by any means necessary.

Odds are it's not going to work, there are very few cases in NFL history where a team switched a coach and a struggling QB suddenly became a competent passer. Coaches make easy scapegoats.

This tells you all you need to know about changing coaches. Don't get your hopes up that we are magically going to scheme ourselves to victory.

Apparently, his contract is expiring after this season......why is this important? Cuz with Garrett gone, he'd likely consider returning as OC with a new head coach.

Report: Commanders snag Bill Callahan on lucrative three-year deal
  • by Larry Hartstein

The Commanders landed Dallas offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Bill Callahan on a lucrative three-year deal to coach their offensive line, reports ESPN's Ed Werder. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora described it as a "big get" due to Callahan's reputation as a master builder of offensive lines.

In Dallas, Callahan developed the offensive line into the league's best. But he was stripped of play-calling duties before this season, and the Cowboys are moving forward with play caller Scott Linehan as offensive coordinator.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd trade a top 5 pick if JG was to get fired. So lose away, I'm not bothered we don't have a first. Atleast we'll have ability trade into first with a high 2nd round pick, ideally.
