I think it’s going to happen. Dak will get another year in a new system. Zeke will play much better. If it’s riley than Dak has a chance. But god he was just horrible last night. It’s bad fellas. Really starting to feel like the campo era again

For the first time, I'm starting to believe he likely won't survive a losing season. The criticism is reaching an epic level nationally that could very well force Jerry's hand.

Who’s on the hot seat, halfway through the season?

Week Nine has ended, which means that all teams have played at least eight games. One of those teams already has fired its coach. History says at least several more will do the same.

So who’s in trouble with eight weeks left in the season?

In no particular order, here’s a list of the guys who currently could be learning in less than eight weeks that their services no longer will be needed.

Jason Garrett, Cowboys: There’s a growing belief in league circles that, if the Cowboys don’t make it to the playoffs, Garrett will be gone. The real question is whether owner Jerry Jones would hire an A-list, type-A replacement or another B-level coach who will gladly let Jones be the actual or perceived puppeteer
Well......bye.

Yep, just like Aikman said about all the different coaches we've had and the only constant has been "the organization". If we get another puppet, which we will, or get another Parcells type coach and Jerry meddles then it'll be more and more obvious it's Jerry. The sooner Garrett is fired and the sooner the next coach fails then Jerry is running out of options.

I’m not sure Jerry runs out of options. He’s still running an appreciating business.

Why even stipulate the playoffs?

12 coaches make the playoffs. If that stipulation was placed on every coach, 20 coaches would be canned every year. Once you get to the point of "playoffs or else" you should probably just choose the "else".

Then we'll learn for sure if Jerry is a business man or a football man. If he continues the pattern of mediocrity to fatten his wallet then we as fans will know he cares more about money than winning. I think a majority of fans are believing that he cares more about money and himself than winning. If we have more years of this crap the fans will stop watching and paying money and he'll lose either way. The fanbase is at a breaking point. The fans are very fragile right now and this is a critical time.

I think we are as fans have had a battle of wills with Jerry. It's Jerry's will vs the fans' will. And the fans are starting to blink and back down and accepting that we will always suck. Some fans are jumping ship, other fans are not watching NFL anymore and some stubborn fans are still standing up for this clown. But Jerry is proving to me that he cares more about money and his ego/fame than winning. He doesn't have a competitive bone in his body, he's not a competitor, he's a baby that got lucky with Jimmy early and has been crying for attention ever since. A real competitor would have handled his situation and put a winning team on the field.

25+ years later and Jerry is still losing to Jimmy Johnson

I’m a fan of him as a coach for us, but it makes sense if the team misses the playoffs again, and especially if their overall record dips for the second year in a row.

Then we’ll get to see if the issues are with the coaching or if it turns out the issues are with management/personnel, right?
The fact you admit you’re a fan of him as coach of this team speaks volumes ...... you’re not too terribly hard to please or too demanding.

he should.
but with Jerry set to extend Dak before the new guy comes aboard...I'll believe Garrett gets fired when I see it.
I'd love Lincoln Riley...Norv Turner...not so much.
but why do I feel like we'll end up with a new O.C. and QB coach.
If the new guy doesn't get to decide the QB spot then why bother with a change.

We can only hope Linehan and Jason are gone. And for whatever reason the staff thinks Dak is the future so you better hope we get an offensive staff who can produce a game plan that he can execute.

If the staff sees Dak as 'the future' - that shows ME that the problems START with the staff. The Jones Family need to step aside, hire REAL football people and concentrate on paying the bills. IOW, they need to start making winning a priority.

Yep. Jerry is talking extension for Dak publicly— while not talking extension for Garrett. We absolutely have to find an offensive staff that can work with Dak since JJ is hell-bent on riding with him.

Crazy to think we could get rid of all the offensive coaches and still be in exactly the same place we are right now bc Dak simply is not an NFL caliber QB.

Maddening.

Jerry is probably so stupid he was talked into to trade for amari by Jason . So that makes them dumb and dumber
