If it's epic fail then why is Goodell under such duress right now.
Because there's videotape of Rice clocking his then fiancée. No tape and no one cares.
Why are Rice, AD and others (McDonald, Hardy, Spillman) such huge black eyes to the league right now? Excessive violence should be treated with zero tolerance, whether it occurs on OR off the field.
That's a great cliche - too bad it is completely meaningless. What do you want? Lifetime bans for domestic violence first offense? That's what zero tolerance would be. Too bad it's not even remotely realistic.

Oh by the way.... Your analogy of comparing the league's response to an on field issue with this off field issue is still epic fail.

So videotape was required for Peterson to be suspended indefinitely? Like it or not, excessive violence has become a legitimate concern for the NFL and they are being forced to completely adjust their old perceptions and processes. And it was all due to OFF the field examples.

Zero tolerance does not mean lifetime ban, seems like you are only one advocating such. First time offense should be treated differently from multiple offenses, even village idiots can understand that. Even Garrett espoused zero tolerance for domestic abuse, citing keeping any offenders out of games regardless of due process.

And FYI, even without tape count me in as someone who cares. I have daughters, sisters, family and friends so have a vested interest in how women and children are treated, or more accurately mistreated.

The Adrian Peterson allegations came to light in the post-Ray Rice era. The whole Ray Rice incident completely changed the way the NFL approaches these things. If Peterson got caught doing what he did last year, he would have gotten a couple games and been back on the field by now.

Oh, so when you say "zero tolerance" what you mean is "the NFL can tolerate it, just not as much as it used to."

I am not advocating a lifetime ban for first offenders. I am just saying that your phrase "zero tolerance" is a meaningless, useless cliche. You don't need to get pissy just because I called you out for using a meaningless, useless cliche.

Oh really? Then please, by all means, prove to us how uch you cared about this issue prior to the Ray Rice incident. Please show us all a single post you made about this important issue criticizing the NFL for the way they handled it prior to the Ray Rice issue. There have been 55 arrests for domestic violence under Roger Goodell resulting in a grand total of 13 games suspended until Ray Rice came along. Please show us all how much you care by giving us a post or two where you spoke out against the NFL's leniency.

Perhaps you should argue your passionate stance about this cliched meaningless phrase with the Cowboys, the NFL and practically every corporation in the world. Zero Tolerance Policies are not something I made up, they are alive and well, and enforced, often. No amount of sneering, guffawing or farting on your part changes that.

And it appears that no matter what is said, you and I will be on different sides of this issue. You obviously do not care a whit about domestic abuse, out of sight out of mind ... UNLESS there is video (oh wait, you don't give a frack about that either). SMH

Which makes me exactly like you - but at least I'm not a hypocrite pretending I cared about the NFL's stance on domestic violence beforehand.

I challenged you to provide a single post of you discussing this topic prior to Ray Rice. Your ignoring that request proves my point. Thank you.
