Sounds awfully predjudicial....is this just a pathetic attempt at humor?

You just compared $15 to $500,000 and $2 to $14. Since, in your assertion, 15=500K, ask me again after you have applied the same ratio to the shipping fee which my buddy should charge me.kapolani;2666550 said:You don't get it do you?
That's not the point.
If you're buddy owed you 15 dollars, lived across the country so decided to send it to you. He took off 2 bucks to for sending fees. Wouldn't you raise your eyebrows at that.
How about we flip it for you.
They owed him 500k! 500k!
What's another 15 dollars to them?
They took it out of his check because they are greedy SOB's. What's done is done. If $15 is so gosh darn important to the man after receiving $500K, he should sue the Bidwells in small claims court for it. He's not. Why? Because it really doesn't matter to him that he'll never see the $15 bucks.THUMPER;2666655 said:It isn't the amount but the fact that they took it out of HIS money rather than considering it the cost of doing business, like almost ever other business in the world would have done!
Banks and mortgage companies do that, take out for every little expense, but most businesses don't, and that is a different situation anyway. No one I ever worked for ever took out the postage for mailing me my paycheck.
You said it was only a few bucks, then why did the Bidwells think it necessary to take it out of HIS money? It's not like they are short of cash and couldn't afford it. $500K is nothing to them an $15 is like someone else losing a penny, they wouldn't care but the Bidwells do!

Negotiation's continued by phone phone for the next several weeks and during those negotiations a brand new pair of those shoes were sent to Charlie. He thought he had hit the bigtime and soon after a deal was reached.
After the agreement was reached, Brandt sent him his signing bonus check - less the amount for the shoes and a receipt for their purchase.

$15 bucks to them is $15 bucks they could have and should have shelled out, so that someone receiving $500,000 wouldn't cry about getting pinched for it, but they decided not to. Obviously, you do not understand that what amounts to a .003% surcharge isn't something which any wealthy adult should ever complain about not pocketing.
Of the two of us, which of us initially referenced the term "nickeled-and-dimed" on this thread as to how the Bidwells operate?kapolani;2667290 said:I arbitrarily chose 2 dollars as a shipping fee because in the example 2 dollars is pocket change. Just like the 15 dollars is pocket change for the Bidwells. Since this is the case - why not eat the fee?
No. What's obvious is you really don't comprehend what you're reading.
I'm going to say it again....
You're missing the point.
The point was - 15 dollars is inconsequential to both of them. The whole point of the piece was that the Card's organization nickles and dimes things.
The point was made even more obvious in light of the fact that they charge the players shipping fees for their money.
The Bidwells have a rep for being tightwads for a reason.

Please re-read your reply to me (which is bolded in red).
And you're stating that I'm the one with reading comprehension difficulties?
I've never missed the point. You're having problems accepting that it is I who used terms such as "tightwads", "snipped", "sponged", "should have shelled out", "pinched", "greedy SOBs", "nickeled and dimed", etc., to describe the BIDWELLS and/or how they compensated Robert Griffith. It's obviously flown over your head, so let's try this again.
The Bidwells did not pay the shipping costs for Griffith's check.
Agree or disagree? If your answer is agree, please QUOTE me anywhere on this thread where I have stated otherwise.
The normal procedure would have been for the Bidwells to pay the shipping costs for Griffith's check.
Agree or disagree? Again, if your answer is agree, please QUOTE me anywhere on this thread where I have stated otherwise.
The Bidwells have a history of below average spending practices concerning their franchise, personnel, etc., which Griffith provided poor examples to a reporter.
Agree or disagree? Once more, if your answer is agree, please QUOTE me anywhere on this thread where I have stated otherwise.
Let's cut to the chase, shall we? The Bidwells should have done the proper, fair AND perfectly reasonable thing--which was, pay the man all of his money along with any shipping fees... correct?
Of course, I'm right. I never stated otherwise. What I have stated accurately is that Griffith has (not "had", has) a $14.11 grievance with the Bidwells, which he could have either corrected himself ( SINCE THE BIDWELLS SURE AS HELL WASN'T! ) or accept the situation which was handed to him, namely:
Take the $499,985.89 minus the shipping fee and not cry about $15 bucks that the bad old Bidwells STOLE (yes, literally) from him. Oh the horror. How will he ever put this dreadful injustice behind him? Hey! Maybe he should ask the Bidwells how they live their penny-pitching lives year after year without feeling an ounce of remorse. Perhaps he'll get some solace out of knowing that at least.
There are rare moments where I agree with you. This is one of them.5Countem5;2667676 said:Are both of you starting to feel you have wasted a little piece of your life that you will never get back?
If not, you should.
