CLEMONS HOSPITALIZED WITH HEAT EXHAUSTION
Posted by Mike Florio on July 29, 2008, 11:51 a.m.
Eagles defensive end Chris Clemons, a free-agent acquisition from the Raiders in the offseason, has been taken to a hospital with heat exhaustion, according to media reports.
Clemons initially was carted off the field and given an IV. An ambulance arrived roughly an hour later. At 11:27 a.m., the ambulance left the team’s training camp with Clemons inside.
Though Clemons appeared to be conscious when he left the field, his status when the ambulance took him to the hospital is unknown.
Coach Andy Reid accompanied Clemons to the hospital, trailing the ambulance in an SUV with team security director Butch Buchianco.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Eagles defensive end Chris Clemons never lost consciousness during his bout with heat exhaustion, and that he is on his way back to the team facility.
All tests were negative (which is positive), and Clemons by all appearances will be OK.
And that’s a good thing. Seven years ago, things didn’t work out as well for Vikings tackle Korey Stringer, who died in a Minnesota hospital from heat exhaustion.
