That's true but Blanche didn't have Orakpo blitzing the passer nearly enough during those two games. Carter isn't likely to see the field very much though.
That's too small of a sample size to really make judgments on...
I agree. A lot depends on whether or not Haynesworth is going to play. If he does, then you have to put two people on him. If that's the case, then you are looking at blocking Orakpo and whoever's coming off the other edge with a TE or a RB and that, as a Commanders fan, gets me giddy. I wouldn't want to block Ware with a TE or RB.
We'll see. He'll get the ball on swing passes I think and it'll be up to Rocky and Fletcher to shut those down. If Felix can make them miss, I'll need more alcohol.
I'm not overly certain Newman is going to be much to worry about this year. He wasn't anything to write home about last year and I see the arrow pointing down for him. Also, with the zone coverages the Cowboys play, I think a lot of pressure will be on the safeties and those are big question marks for you guys. The Skins also have a good pair of tackles in Brown and Williams, but I'm sure Ware will force the coaches to put a TE on the other side to slow Ware down. I'm not too concerned with Williams vs. Spencer though.
I think it will be a close game. It could come down to the bounce of the ball or the foot of a kicker.
Let's be honest here, firehawk. We've been through this three years ago. You have never liked Newman.
Newman had the ball in his hands running the other way on the Commanders defense last year. I bet NFL coaches and GMS don't agree with you. The Titans defensive coordinator stated in an interview (article) that Newman was the second best CB left in the playoffs after the wildcard round. A vote of 12 NFL Personnel people voted Newman and Jenkins the third best CB duo in the NFL. Hmmm.. Newman must be playing some good football out there. Go ask
DeSean Jackson and your new QB about Terence Newman.
McNabb will test our two Pro Bowl CBs deep, and he will lose, again and again.
The Cowboys don't need Revis or Asomugha, because the Cowboys have two aces at CB, and those two aces are going to take your outside WRs out the game and shrink the field for you.
Dallas' safeties will be good enough to win with, imo. The safeties and linebackers and slot CB will be the preferred target, because of how very, very good the two edge CBs are on the field. The safeties and middle linebackers will give up some yards, but the defense will be stingy with points.
I'd worry about Spencer for sure. He is flat out dominant, and he was at or near the very top of the NFL in QB hits last year.
We agree on one thing. It should be a close game.

Check that. It was the Titans' secondary coach. They have a good CB themselves. Courtland Finnegan. Their CBs are coached well, too.
