EAGLES-COWBOYS ONE-LINERS

Posted by Mike Florio on September 16, 2008, 11:13 p.m.
With his eleventh 300-yard passing game, Cowboys QB Tony Romo is only two behind Troy Aikman for the franchise record.
Said Cowboys coach Wade Phillips of the 41-37 win: “Well, it’s one in the bank. You never know which one is going to come back and mean a lot for you, so it’s a good win at home, a big win in the last Monday night game at Texas Stadium.”
Regarding the fact that the Cowboys surrendered 30 first-half points to the Eagles but tightened it up down the stretch, LB DeMarcus Ware said, “We made it count at the end. We played good enough to win. That’s what matters.”
TE Jason Witten has a separated shoulder.
Despite the loss, the Eagles could be very, very good.
After scoring his second touchdown in the first half, T.O. disappeared.
Owens is now in second place on the all-time receiving touchdowns list with 132 — he needs only another 65 to match Jerry Rice.
Eagles CB Asante Samuel picked off a pass, and CB Sheldon Brown forced a fumble.
Eagles WR Reggie Brown (hamstring) was on the field during warmups, but didn’t play.
One of the biggest blunders in MNF history deserves yet another look.

Watch the video. Pacman seems to be talking to the ref after the ball was dropped by Jackson. Maybe that is why he didn't pick the ball up because of the conversation with the ref. Possibly told the play was dead????

Every player is taught to go after loose balls.

Romo is amazing, but Aikman wasn't known as a 300 yard passer. His stats would usually be 20-25 for 265 yards. He never had a RAC (run after catch) WR like a TO. Lots of slants and deep outs to Irvin.

Right.
Didn't need the 300 yard games, with Emmitt in the backfield. Until we get a consistant running game like that again, Romo will always have high yardage games. Plus this seems to be more of a throwing offense then with Aikman.

Not saying our running game is not good, because it really is. But you pretty much knew Emmitt was going for 100 yards. As of now with this offense being passing minded, we don't know about those 100 yards rushing games.

Notes:mad: Phillips said cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was going to pick up the ball Philadelphia's DeSean Jackson threw down on his way into the end zone, but Jones didn't bother because officials ruled it a touchdown and, thus, a dead ball. "He should've let us get the ball, run it back or do what we did with it and then they could review and say it was a touchdown or it wasn't a touchdown," Phillips said.

Got this from a Daily Zone article.
This is what I had suggested in my OP. It sure looked like Pac was contemplating getting the ball.

Doesn't matter-it wasn't that the whistle blew, but b/c it was initially ruled a TD, rules say that upon instant replay, the ball gets awarded to the team that fumbled/backward lateralled it at the spot they did so.

I think thats the case cause the official ruled the player had scored. But if the official had let the play go as he should of, then that was a live ball. Thats why I suggested Pac had questioned the official and not going after the ball.
