Dead money next year for brooks 4.7 mil that deal was in my opinion trade friendly

I'm looking at his contract right now. It says his dead money for next year is 28M. It's 34M this year. What am I missing?

But what was the prognosis at the time? That is what matters, regardless of if it was wrong or not.

then you will never be close enough. How much better do you think our offense can be? Getting Crosby would be a giant step forward. You think Seattle was close before last season started? NOT close. They were 60-1 odds. Dallas is about 30-1 right now. So in the eyes of the people that know more than anyone, Dallas is closer than Seattle was.

You may be right. But we can’t say for sure until we see this current group on the field. I’m not a pessimist like many here but I ain’t getting my hopes too high until I see something.
