Just a matter of time before Deion has a bionic leg...and he announces he's never felt better....plans on coming back to the NFL.

Sounds like it is just a matter of time....good news for him is he immediately qualifies for disability health insurance regardless of having a job. I know he has money but medical and healthcare cost is crazy high.

Deion Sanders may need to have his foot amputated

Actually he may not get disability but he would qualify for medicare.
If receiving disability payments, you can only make so much a month before your benefits are taxed. And if he still works, that only lasts for so long, before you are removed from getting benefits.
Yes, he could get disability, but it would make no sense for him to do so. Except if his medical policy cost way more than what Medicare cost.

Anyway, sorry to hear this for him.

Deion is only 55. If he has that condition already, there likely isn't much long term hope of keeping his foot.

The good news is medical advancements in prosthetics have been pretty remarkable the last few years.
…..and he could probably still outrun me with a prosthetic foot

Sanders has publicly stated his foot and leg problems post-NFL career began with his "turf toe" injury in 1998 ehile playing for the Cowboys.
True and it is obvious the blood clots in his legs that deteriorated his arteries had nothing to do with any other medical procedure he had prior to the toe amputation. Please keep moving everyone.

Crazy story, my cousin was considering the same thing. He had a really bad break and it didn't recover correctly from the surgery. The pain and complications were getting worse by the year and everything the doctors would try didn't seem to help. He almost went through with the amputation. Said the pain in his foot was pretty unbearable at times. Then he decided to quit his job and switch professions. Loved the new job and his foot just got gradually better and better until the pain completely went away over time. Basically the doctor told him that he was under so much stress that his brain wasn't allowing his foot to heal properly. Sounds insane but that's what happened. His foot is totally fine these days.

I felt that way about him when he played for the 49ers. Let's hobble him. Not so much now.

He should watch his diet. Reduce vegetable carbohydrates, little sugar, and very low fat protein in good amounts. Then drink water without sugar quite a lot more during the day. He has to stay atop his blood sugar and blood pressure.

One doesn't have to be way over weight, just not adjusted.

They can go into his leg veins and get blood flowing again, probably.

I had a right foot big toe scraped to remove infection from working in a processing plant as a guard and run off from 5 inches of rain.

There’s different levels of pain and hurt. Is losing a leg as bad as losing a child? No. But it still hurts. These same legs that have made him millions, the legs he’s had his who life are potentially gone.

I never understood the whole “I don’t feel sorry for this guy because he’s rich”. As if money solved all problems. It erases any form of sadness or sickness.
Just let's you know he's the type that thinks money buys happiness.

Nah. Only sucks if he feels sorry for himself, which I trust he won't.

This is a tiny speed bump compared to losing a child, a spouse, a livelihood. He has massive fame, massive money, friends, great job. He should have the same energy, ability to communicate, and in a short time lose nothing in function. He'll walk around just like anyone else.

I ain't feeling sorry for Deion. We got people in this Country getting slandered where they lose everything. People on the streets with nothing. AI stealing future careers. I ain't wasting a quarter-second feeling bad for Deion over this. Just a wish for successful surgery.
Stay classy.

A human being may lose his foot. I'm not sure we need anymore information than that.
