I'm rooting for him, but I really hope he starts working on his life after football. Not saying he's not doing this, but I hope when football season is over, he's looking into internships and business deals or working on his communication skills so he can be a broadcaster or working on someway to rise above his upbringing.
Too often, talented players who grew up hard - for whatever reason including "keeping it real" - don't cultivate a life beyond their background. And while playing football they may be able to leave that behind, when their playing days are over they fall back into the same situations and circumstances because they didn't take the time to develop as a person and better their situation beyond the girdiron.
I hope JayZ's group (or whoever is now his management company) is looking out for Dez in this way.

I think Dez realized that his relationship with Wells was a dead end (leechy) one, so he was smart enough to sever that relationship and partner with a self-made billionaire who could help him focus on his life after football. Some football players wait until its too late (at the end of their careers) to do so. It's funny, but some people on here love to throw out that Dez is not very bright, but he is much smarter and stronger than people give him credit for.

He has "hard knocks" smart and appears to be able to severe relationships with people who mean him no good. Believe me, that's HUGE because a reason so many of these former multimillionaire athletes are broke is because they couldn't say "NO" to their homeboyz or shady business deals that their "friends" introduced them to.

.
Every now and then, I check out Dez's girlfriend's Instagram page and she seems to pretty level headed if I'm only going by social media. You never hear about her and she only posts about her kids and other family.
