It sounds like we could have fairly quick decision and not draged out like Garrett. But the tone seem to suggest he's gone.....
Also, I could be wrong but may be the first time Jerry's entire coaching staff had expiring contracts.

It can't be easy coaching in Dallas. Dealing with the Jones boys, media scrutiny, fan base, etc. Big Mike in 2022 when the whole flirtation with Sean Payton in the media was going on said..."Coaching the Cowboys is different than any other job I have had..."

He may be at his tipping point in Dallas. Can he please write a book speaking about his Dallas years with no filter?! Please! Lol

I go back to last year after the Washington game and Jerry addressing questions about McCarthy's contract leading up to the Packers playoff game with: "We'll see how each game goes in the playoffs." Jerry immediately tried to walk it back once it became THE topic of conversation before a playoff game.

In Big Mike's comments today he was clear that football games come first. Nothing needs to distract from a game. His quote: "That's what the offseason is for. I don't think this week is the time for those discussions."

I honestly believe that Jerry's comments after the Washington game last year was a major distraction going into the Green Bay playoff game. Big Mike likely saw it the same way. His comments today quoted above scream that to me.

Just my humble opinion, folks.

I have to believe he’ll take an offer elsewhere. If the offers don’t come then he’ll likely resign here.

It’s hard to eat cereal when people walk by and keep grabbing a fist full

That fist just happens to be Jerry and Stephen

Whether he wants out or not, his answer was the correct one. There's still football to play and the focus should be on that even if it's a meaningless game. If he wants out, he doesn't want his players hearing him say it. If he doesn't want out and admits it and then gets let go next week (and the players want him back) that can damage the team's outlook on the front office.

At least publicly, the players seem to want him back. Dak has been outspoken about wanting him back. I can't fault him for this season because of the incompetence of the front office, but he can absolutely be blamed for the team choking in the playoffs 3 years in a row.
After the first time, he should have told Jerry he needs more control to instill discipline and stuck to his guns (if he was the great coach everyone proclaims).

He chose money over pride. We're screwed if he stays, we're screwed if he goes. What would fix things is if Jerry stepped back and hired a full-time GM who is proactive and not reactionary.

MM is just as mediocre as Dak, Jerry, and his son. I used to believe his GB teams were good, but Rodgers was also the reason they were good.

And whoever thinks 12-5 was good enough, please list the teams he beat that were playoff caliber.

Big Mike learning from Jerry by tabling a question to a further date, and allowing the speculation to take place. I don't care if MM stays or goes because Jerry n Stephen uck up the offseason, and limit the team anyway.

Let's have the discussion now. No, Mike, we don't want you back. We would prefer some discipline. Well, executed football with good time management.
This team wins despite of Mike McCarthy, not because of him.

He won one super bowl with a first ballot hall of fame QB in his prime. He has less to work with here. He is a good coach not a great coach. We can do better, but most really good coaches won't want to deal with the drama. Jerry is drama spelled in Capital letters.

Rodgers never reached a super bowl without Mike.

Sounded as if he wants to come back and make a pitch to come back to the Joneses, He talked about the things that are already in place here and he wants to make sure his coaches are taken care of. McCarthy called it the "program" that doesnt sound like someone trying to get out. If so why bother making any comment? Besides I dont think the fans blame this mess on him the front office is to blame for this. Jerry even admits it.

I dont think the Jones are going to through any type of extensive coaching search at this point. Too much work.
Hate when they say program college teams and high schools have programs
