GRUDEN GETS A NEW GIG
Posted by Mike Florio on February 18, 2009, 1:23 p.m.
Though he’s still roughly a year away from putting his visor back on, former Bucs coach Jon Gruden has found a new gig.
Our friends at NFL Network announced on Wednesday that Gruden will join the coverage of the 2009 Scouting Combine.
“Coach Gruden is one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining people in the NFL and we are fortunate that he will be joining our team of analysts at the Combine,” said NFLN executive producer Eric Weinberger. “With the addition of Coach Gruden we continue to grow our coverage to give fans the most comprehensive preview of the 2009 NFL Draft.”
The good news is that, because NFLN doesn’t broadcast over the airwaves, a seven-second delay won’t be needed.
Then again, it might be a good idea.
Gruden has recently said that he’s studying the spread offense, and he apparently has developed a full-blown man-crush on Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.
NFLN’s coverage of the Scouting Combine begins Thursday at 2:30 p.m. EST, and continues through Wednesday, February 25.
