All JJ has to do is promote him and give Ireland final say. How would that be any different than any other owner like they said. Jerry would ultimately have all the influence. The man that signs the checks always does.

they break tons of stories -- regardless of whether you want to believe that or not.

they also miss on tons of stuff.

one thing is clear, they've got sources. sometimes they are wrong and sometimes they are right.

They don't break on many stories outside of so and so player re-signed a contract or so and so player wants a contract extension or a trade. It's pretty obvious that Florio has minimal contacts in the league and the contacts he does have are player agents.

I wish I still had it with me, but I tracked the stories Florio "broke" last year and it was laughable how many were completely wrong.

I don't know when somebody breaking a few stories and being so wrong so many times became known as "good reporting" or a "reliable source." For the most part he sits at home and speculates or makes stuff up from stuff he sees on the net. Which is no better than 90% of the people on the net.

Oh, well... A lot of the people who are so certain we're doomed now are the same ones who thought our football season was doomed the second Parcells quit. You know, the crew who was certain that:

-- Hiring an OC before the head coach was a disaster,
-- Wade Phillips was another bumbling puppet,
-- Leonard Davis was a hugely overpaid bust signed only because he was from Texas,
-- Ken Hamlin's bashed-in skull rendered him useless and Jerry only wanted him because he was a fellow Razorback,
-- Camp Cupcake would create an undisciplined, unphysical, poorly-executing soft team,
-- etc.

So maybe not all is lost.

I hope all is not lost. All I know is that our drafts got much much better when BP came into the picture. A lot of that praise has been given to Ireland. The only thing I know about him I have read on this site, and that has been pretty dang good.

I would be just fine if he told Tuna to stick it.

Give Ireland the title and the money, JJ will still be JJ but Ireland would still be here also.

But you're not getting what I am saying. How would Ireland being GM under Parcells be any different than him being GM under Jerry? That is unless you believe that Parcells won't have final say.

JJ already called Ireland a "personell guy". He has no intentions of ever giving him GM.

On the flipside, what is the likelihood that Parcells retains Hoffman or Houck?

Could Dallas get either back?

Also, I do not see Capers aggressive D philosophy on a Parcells team.

So what you're saying is, he just throws a bunch of stuff at the wall and hopes some of them stick?
