PFT: Jeff Fisher on Cowboys' video board: "No one's to blame"

you guys did read the entire thing right?

the author states what we all read about how the NFL approved of the screen, its size, the height of it and everything. The NFL does this with every new stadium. Do you think they wouldn't?

Sorry RW.....I'm gonna have to use smileys.

I don't really care if it is moved until it effects the outcome of a game. ( it may never do that)

Anyone who plays basketball would know that 90 feet (basketball court length 93 ft) above is NOTHING and not high enough for an NFL punt. Why in the world the NFL did not get that straight is beyond me!!!

No one is to blame here.

Yeah...I was more or less entertaining myself with my sherlock homie impersonation. I've been peeling 10 lbs of shrimp for the last hour...I need some break in the monotony.

I actually don't give two ****s about this entire situation. Doesn't bother me one way or the other....

This....without the shrimp....

He must be referring to the proper height specifications set in the video board/stadium manual from 1959.

Center hung video boards were all the rage back then.

You have heard of sarcasm right?

The fact that it was Fisher's team that Dallas spanked handily in the game that was played had nothing to do with Jeff's comments about the video screen, did it?

If anyone thinks the NFL didn't approve this, then they are crazy. The NFL regulates friggin' lumens per foot in lighting systems. The width of every strip on the field(4"), what facilities are. Goddell can make a ruling without even a vote. All he has to do is call Jerry, ask if he can just raise the thing and have it operate fine at 15 feet at the expense of the league and just leave it at that. I know there's a process, but the inactivity and the silence of actual league officials is glaring.

Why is the league itself not saying anything at all. Goddell is so quick to voice his opinion on EVERY matter with the league. If Megatron, JerryTron or whatever we call it was Michael Vick's head, he'd have a press conference minutes after it happened.

Gracias...it's not actually my birthday yet, and as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather not have any more of these things. When your girl is 25 and you're 34...she's got plenty of ammunition as it is. My old age is just icing on the cake. :D

Fisher is becoming public enemy #1. If the Cowboys and Titans both end up in the Super Bowl...

We would have no chance.. they would actually be gameplanning for us, unlike the preseason game where we went all out and spent months preparing for them.

Eh? Maybe if we suffer massive injuries. Their defense isn't quite what it used to be and I think Collins is about cashed out. VY isn't going to beat us either.

Vince Young had a great game against us considering they didn't gameplan, he even said so.

We had this preseason game circled on our calendars since our debacle in Philadelphia. Hell, we even had AUDIBLES which completely shocked the Titans defense and they weren't prepared for it. You never see audibles in preseason games!

We are just lucky that they didn't gameplan for us or throw any semblance of a gameplan together at all. They had a single sheet of paper that contained all 20 of their defensive and offensive plays, and that's all they used.

They felt obligated to let us win our first game in our new stadium. It was a nice gesture by them but things would be much different in the Super Bowl.

 <-- should have added this after my last post

Lmao...not even close.

...but it is funny to think about those things. My buddy (turns 35 in Dec.) is getting married to a 24 year old early next year, and I always bring up little facts like "when your girl was born, you were sporting a mullet and a pre-teen stoosh....smoking cigs behind the school and comparing notes based on first hand experience on all of the cheerleaders at football practice".

Never gets old. :D
