Our friends at WIP radio in Philly (and, yeah, Eskin is now included within that group) told us earlier in the day that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is in Philadelphia.
But why? It’s a strange place to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the day he acquired the keys to the clown car.
It would be irresponsible to speculate with no factual basis. But, hell, someone’s gotta do it.
One possibility is that Jones wants to be in position to whisk Ray Lewis from the Baltimore area (a short drive from Philly) to Dallas in order to introduce Lewis as the latest addition to the franchise. After all, free agency opens in less than 29 hours.
The other possibility is that Jones is courting free-agent receiver Marvin Harrison. But the Cowboys already have Terrell Owens and Roy Williams.
But it’s becoming increasingly clear that Owens will be back in 2009, and Jones surely wouldn’t dump Roy Williams only a few months after giving up a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and a fifth-round pick for Williams and a seventh-round pick.
Or maybe Jones really wanted a cheesesteak.
