Frazier was mentioned as a possibility for the coordinator position shortly after Smith was reported as Tampa’s choice to replace Greg Schiano. Cowboys defensive line coach Rod Marinelli, who worked with Smith in Chicago, was also mentioned in relation to the job, but there was some question as to whether the Cowboys would approve a move to Tampa.

Jerry needs to let Marinelli leave and do the same with Kiffin and get Frazier in here as DC.

Local Tampa news is confirming Leslie Frazier hiring .. Said he should be introduced Monday with rest of coaching staff .. Supposedly still interested in Rod as well for a similar role that he has with Dallas now

Interesting, so he'd be okay with the lateral move?

just remember we could have had that coaching staff if Jerry would have fired Garrett. We could have had Lovie, Frazier and Marinelli.

ih? good for him....we can't have him with our current staff as it is....but, if in the next few weeks, they can Kiffin and allow Marinelli to leave, then I am going to be a little PO'd that they didn't have a plan in place to get Frazier here...but, as long as they have SOME plan other than old Cowboy re-treads from the 90's then I can get behind any moves

I still think Kiffin/Marinelli get one more dance this coming year...

Interesting. Kinda funny after all the "reports" about Marinelli heading to TB as DC looks like it'll be Frazier instead.

Now I'm wondering if Marinelli ends up being our DC next year or if him and Kiffin both return.

I think they'll both return

The formula we had for this season will be the same for next,

Maybe Callahan goes, and JG calls plays again, but I think that's the extent of our staffing changes this year.

What about Frazier makes him better than Kiffin or Marinelli? I looked at his record. He's a defensive back specialist. Is our problem with our defensive backs these days? Or do we have a problem with defensive line or linebackers?

Would Frazier have cured the hideous injury problem we had this year?

Getting four solid linemen would go a long way to getting us back into the middle of the defensive pack in the NFL (much less to top 10 status).

What's it going to be then, eh?

I think we have problems at all three areas on defense. Say what you want about the DL, that is obvious. But the fact that our outside linebackers were ripe to be picked on and our secondary seemed to lose ball awareness constantly, you have to look at everyone.
