Per the Free Press, Rogers will be traded or released.

SEYMOUR HEAD-BUTT CAUGHT ON TAPE?

Posted by Mike Florio on January 23, 2008, 2:24 p.m.
PFT Planet, we don’t know what we’d do without you.

In response to the item regarding the contention of Chargers center Nick Hardwick that Pats defensive end Richard Seymour applied a head butt to a Chargers coach, a reader sent to us a YouTube video that seems to capture the moment in question.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVCFpGJO02Y

The apparent head-butt comes at about the 2:48 mark of the segment.

Though the NFL has implemented tight restrictions regarding the interaction of players from opposing teams during pre-game warmups, Seymour looks to be right in the thick of the Chargers’ players, jawing with a couple of them.
Also, the Nick Hardwick interview on XX Sports Radio is now available right here.

HARDWICK CLAIMS SEYMOUR HEAD-BUTTED CHARGERS COACH

Posted by Mike Florio on January 23, 2008, 12:59 p.m.

A reader tells us that Chargers center Nick Hardwick claimed in an appearance on XX Sports Radio 1090 that the alleged antics of Pats defensive end Richard Seymour on Sunday included applying a head butt to a member of the Chargers’ coaching staff.

We previously received an e-mail tip making that same claim, and it appeared to have been written by a Chargers player. But we couldn’t corroborate the contention, so we left it alone.

Hardwick publicly called out Seymour after Sunday’s game, claiming that Seymour was engaged in dirty tactics.

Moments ago, we called the station to confirm that the allegation had been made by Hardwick (wow, real journalistic work), and we were told that the podcast containing the accusation will be posted within the hour. The XX Sports Radio audio vault is right here.
You know that if ANY Dallas Cowboy had been talking like that or something to a coach from another team, officials would have been all over it

shaun rogers will always have a place in cowboys lore.. he is the player generally regarded as the guy we passed on to draft.... QUINCY CARTER!

True. It is funny that Rogers laziness has made that not as big a deal as time goes by. He is underachieving. He has his moments and even a pro-bowl, but as a whole is a disappointment. He probably would have disappointed in Dallas as well and the Cowboys would have still been in search of a QB during that time until Romo came along.

Hmm...pokes Jacobs in the eye in week 17....headbutts a coach last week.....can the NFL please suspend this guy who is intentionally trying to injure people.

You are confusing the cheaters and incidents. It was Wilfork who was fined for pointing at a players grill.

And Seymour didn't head but the guy who was backpedaling like a mo.

I wish we had more intense and emotional guys leading our team. I miss Charles Haley.

Now if Parcells was the head coach I'd say yeah Dallas should go after him but Wade doesn't seem like the guy who can keep a guy on the straight and narrow...

I remember a Colts fan coming here and posting about how dirty Patriots players were. And ever since then I have noticed some of their D players. Man they are dirty.

I am not sure why they haven't been taken out, i.e. knees etc. Especially Vince Willfork. That gives dives at Knees more times than I have seen anybody do.

I am a michigan fan, and lost lot of respect when Tom Brady started doing his acting job on when someone touches him. I think it was against Jags, when DE or LB came sack him, and was trying to hold him after barely hitting him, and Brady does a great Acting job, ala a Punter, falls on Flops to the ground, getting a Roughing penalty.

FOOTBALL IS ABOUT PHYSICAL INTIMIDATION

I wish our team would be so jacked up on gameday. We might not fade every December if we had intense leadership.

Great quote from a Pat Oline (mankins?) going into Jax game - Jax is a big physical team upfront, how are you going to address that?

We are going to hit them back was the answer.

Pointing at his grill? He jammed his finger inside his facemask, most likely in the eye.

Charles Haley wouldn't have tried to intimidate a much smaller, much older opposing coach. He was intense - we wasn't scum. Some of these Patriots players, OTOH...

well guess he will be released because who would trade for him now?
Actually the Lions probably released this news to try and get a draft pick for him. By say they will release him, any team interested better cough up a 6th or 7th rounder unless they want to get in a bidding war with some other team.

The coach was not backpedaling. He came in to get his player back to the sidelines. That is what coaches do and are supposed to do.
