Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram believes that the league got the idea from the Dallas Cowboys.

“They have had cameras in their locker room, pregame, showing the guys getting ready, since Cowboys Stadium opened,” Williams said. “They show it on the big screen.”

That becomes important in light of the fact that the NFLPA has invited any players and player representatives to express concerns about the practice of putting cameras in the locker room. The Cowboys have been doing it for years now, and no players or player representatives have complained or even raised an issue, despite the fact that a labor deal was negotiated from scratch in 2011.

Why not, they look to Dallas any time they want to make a new rule, including apparently the new running back helmet rule, with Demarco Murray being used as the main example.

Seems like the rest of the league lives daily with Cowboys envy.

Interesting, but it seems to me that players would need those few minutes of quiet and calm to themselves right before going out onto the field. I hope the cameras don't distract or upset their mental preparation.

Then again, they probably had hours before the game to get psyched up and prepared, so it probably doesn't make that much difference.

Pretty sure it's Trent Richardson that's the main example of this rule change. It's even being called the "T-Rich Rule" everything isn't done because of the Cowboys.

That guys helmet was already coming off.

I think the rule is pretty stupid. Although it doesn't apply inside the tackle box where a fat majority of the straight on collusions likely occur, I still think it's gonna suck to see it called.

They should ban having the players walk through a bar to get to the field.

Every stadium sells booze, so they are pretty much walking through a bar regardless.

There's a thread on here somewhere that says Murray is the main example that was brought up. I don't know if that's true or not, but that's where I got the info for my sort of tongue-in-cheek point.

the cowboys have done this since day 1 at the stadium.

Its not new, they usually show the guys at their lockers, putting on their pads, getting stretched/taped etc...
