PFT: McCoy: Kaepernick situation has something to do with protest, a lot to do with his play

.....
The irony is that a web site like CZ has stricter rules for expressing political views than a billion dollar franchise ......

..... and the beauty of that is that both CZ and the NFL are private enterprises and, as such, they largely get to do what they want. Just another benefit of not having the government intrude upon every aspect of peoples' lives.

There are a few issues with Kap

1. Not all that intelligent, always had trouble learning playbooks
2. Mechanics and footwork never progressed, especially mechanics
3. He's more interested in off the field stuff than on the field

If you go to his Twitter, he got far too wrapped up in the BLM/Rad culture. Which is fine, but he brought it onto the football field. Football IS NOT a political platform, there are other outlets to go to if you want to speak on this stuff; it is a sports platform, escapism - when you introduce politics into it, it turns fans away as we have seen.

Advice to Kap: Drop football and create your own platform to discuss these social and political issues.

There are not 64 QBs better than him in the league for all that.

When they do the pledge of the allegiance and trot out police, military, and government employees and leaders then it is a political platform.

And you can't have a guy calling the cops murderers when you are praising them at the same time

The NFL is very political...... Pink jerseys, blue jerseys, camo jerseys are political/ social movements but it is their football and they call the shots

Even Jim Brown said Kap can't be an activist and a NFL QB....... one or the other............ all the other lemmings copying CK are just background noise and will fall for anything(literally)..... still the NFL should ban all protests while in uniform

Maybe not 64 better but quite a few comparable and more desirable then one who makes lots of trouble off the field.

tired of the Kaep situation, watch football to escape from political and societal anx. Wish he and other celebs would not hijack other's stages and experiences with their own agendas. In this case, play football and protest all you want on your own soap box
Post of the day my friend. When is idiot Goodell going to put a stop to this? It's gone too far and will get out of hand. Children who look up to these players will start doing it at their schools. Then the media will be all over Goodell for letting it get out of hand, THEN Goodell will do something. Sound familiar?!

Don't know how many times it needs to be said
He wants to either be a starter or compete to be a starter.
That eliminates all but a few teams.
And then the other stuff would come into play.

This nonsense about there would have be to 32+ QBs better than him for him to not be on a team does not at all represent reality.

Plenty of sources said he turned down offers to be a backup very early in the process.
They were suppossedly low ball offers in the 1 mil range.

What teams exactly should be giving him a shot to start?

Miami would've been one legit chance, but Cutler was the guy the coach specifically wanted.

Maybe the Jets?
Maybe Jacksonville?

Thats about it. Two teams (unless I'm missing one)
And those teams may be targeting the loaded 2018 draft.

The other teams with starting QB issues have just drafted one they want to play....teams like Cleveland, Chicago, Houston, and LA.
