For a team that hasn’t played in an NFC title game since 1995, the Cowboys continue to be extremely popular.

More than a generation after the trio of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin ruled the league as “the Triplets,” a new threesome of Cowboys skill-position players has emerged as marketing superstars. Regardless of the relative lack of on-field success.

From the NFLPA, via Gil Brandt of NFL.com, receiver Dez Bryant, quarterback Tony Romo, and running back Ezekiel Elliot are No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 on the top 50 list of total player sales from March 1 through May 31.

With Cowboys tight end Jason Witten just behind Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers at No. 4, Dallas owns 80 percent of the top five spots on the list.

This is the true genius of Jerry Jones. For a team that hasnt won diddly in 20 years we are still the most polarizing, popular and most valued franchise in sports. You have to give the guy credit. He is amazing at many things.

And somewhere Jerry is smiling saying that we might not have won a SB in twenty years but we have the top players in merchandise sales. That is something to be proud of.

As much as we all hate Jerry he is exactly what I would want to run my business. I would have a swimming pool full of 100's. It's simply incredible that Jerry has kept this team the most loved, hated, polarizing, valuable sports franchise in the world. And doing it while fielding a terrible product on the field. It's a testament to how good Jerry is at making money and also shows how awesome or faithful Cowboys fans are. Now if only we could get these same fans create a home field advantage

I have always said this. Jerry Jones the owner is the best you could ever want. Jerry Jones the GM not so much. If he hired a really good GM we could have it all. I wonder if Stephen will hire one when the time comes.

That is pretty impressive, especially for Tony because it's usually out of sight, out of mind in the NFL. I think seeing how the team fared without him made him all that much more popular and rightfully so.

BTW - Wait til next year's jersey's sales. Think Zeke will be a monster in Fantasy this year? Check this from ESPN's Dave Berry--

Only one team in the NFL has an active streak of a running back totaling at least 1,000 yards rushing while also gaining at least 300 yards receiving in consecutive seasons ... the Dallas Cowboys.

They've actually done it for three straight years, or every season since starting center Travis Frederick was drafted and no team has come close in consecutive years.

Sign Fred to an extension soon!

Anything to keep the Cowboys relevant right? can't win a super bowl let's boost
sales, keep em on primetime television and selling out to Satan, rather than
allowing the prima donna's to fall as they should to get real change in Dallas
that is long overdue

Prime reason he wanted Manziel marketing.

Prime reason he wanted Manziel marketing.

Dallas remains relevant irregardless of Manziel or NO Manziel but I have no
doubt that sales of jersey's, tickets and the media lovefest of Dallas would
have gotten them a few more games on primetime tv had he signed on the
dotted line thankfully his drinking took care of any further embarrassment
in Dallas since we already have enough

I hate threads like this. They predictably always turn into Jerry is "stealing everyone's money" threads. Can they just be informational sometimes?
