One of the most famous moments in college basketball history came when Michigan’s Chris Webber called a timeout that his team didn’t have in the closing moments of the national championship game. In basketball, calling a timeout when you can’t is a technical foul, and that penalty sealed Michigan’s fate and handed North Carolina the…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2360762&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Didn't get to read the article yet, trying to get 5 things done at once.
But in a nutshell, without reading it. They will reword it to justify us getting screwed....again....

Wow. Pro Football Talk focuses on the timeout nonsense but not the real issue of the Seahawks having 12 men on the field. I would say how predictable but that would be a cliche.

If I am not mistaken, Seattle had 1 timeout left.......that isn't the issue. The issue is the rule that says a team cannot call consecutive timeouts before the ball is snapped.

From what I recall of the incident.....Seattle had a hurt player, so a timeout was called, leaving them with 1. Once they came back to game action, Seattle had 12 men on the field and tried to call another TO before Dallas snapped the ball. The officials blew the whistle, stopping the action. They gave Seattle a 2nd timeout before Dallas snapped the ball again. It should have been a penalty, and it would have given Dallas a 1st down. So, not only did Seattle get away with 12 men on the field, they also got away with calling consecutive timeouts.

If I am wrong, and Seattle was actually out of timeouts, that makes it even worse.

This was the 2nd game in 2015 where the officials had a direct hand in gifting Seattle a win......the first being against the Lions.

What's odd here is they say if a timeout is called trying to ice the kicker, it's a penalty. In this case, they called a timeout to get their 12th man off the field that actually did ice the kicker, and that isn't a problem.
