Odell Beckham on playing Sunday: I wouldn’t count it out

“I wouldn’t count it out,” Beckham said, “and my heart’s just not going to make this easy. So I can say it’s a day-to-day thing. I’m really trying to get better. It’s been two weeks. I’m itching but just patience and trusting.”

Beckham said he has done some running “here and there” and offered that his ankle feels better every day. But doctors have yet to clear him to return to the field.

“When they clear you, they’ll clear you to play,” Beckham said. “It sucks, but it’s a day-to-day thing. You try and get better each and every day. I’ve been rehabbing an endless amount of hours, in treatment, etc., just trying to get it right.”

Odella Becky the drama queen will play. Has to ham it up for the media. So if he makes a big play, they will say what a great recovery and how talented and all the suckle headlines will be out there.

Never mind the headline where Jaylon's return, knocked Eli to the turf making a game winning play for us. That will not be talked about.

LOL.

It's all setting up nicely for him. He'll make a triumphant return to the field, possibly limp a little in warm ups, really play up the injury. Then he'll go out and have a good game and the media will fawn all over him and his toughness and grit.

What a joke. I hope he falls out of bed Sunday morning and breaks his tail bone.

Prediction that we win the game but all anyone talks about is ODB playing on injury and how amazing that was as he's the first player in history to do it, and how NYG would've won if he had been 100%, and how we should put an asterisk by the win.....yata yaya tats and then the NYG go on and drop game 2 to the lions also despite a healthy ODB then the media will run stats on how many teams have started 0-2 to start yet made the playoffs and then NYG muddled through their season and disappoint, miss the playoffs.
But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself...

"Now here's a guy who was supposed to be injured! But he is so selfless to play injured and helped carry his team to victory! All hail Odell and more players should emulate him! Heart of a champion folks!"

Sandbagging big time.
If OBJ would have been a professional Bowler instead, he would have had a relationship with the ball return.

People just love to hate the guy.

I don't think he'll play, FWIW. And if he does, he'll be limited.
Agreed. He hasn't practiced at all since his injury (with the exception of some straight line running and such, according to what I've read). Since he hasn't practiced at all, it's hard to see how he could start and be the normal OBJ. They could put him out there on a limited basis but, as you stated, he'll be limited in his abilities even then. My guess is that they'll hold him out this week.

You might be getting ahead of yourself, but it's a dang good story!

Injured players seem to miraculously heal in time to play the Cowboys.

He got up and gingerly walked away weeks ago.

He's fine.

He then collapsed in the tunnel on the way to the locker room...I think he's hurt worse than he'd let on. He walked off gingerly to try and look tough, as football players always try to do.

if he suffered a high ankle sprain, he may play but he sure as hell won't be close to 100%.

That injury inhibits certain positions more than others. His game is all about being able to change directions on a dime.
