PFT: Pats have multiple trade offers for Milton

Well, IMO they are going to sink or swim with Maye. He's their top draft pick. If they can turn a 2024 6th round pick into a 2025 3rd rounder, why not?
Draft pedigree will give Maye a long leash.
The only upside to that is the QB graveyard that was NE before Bledsoe so they will have multiple bites at that apple.

If I were Jerry (first off, I apologize for opening my mouth and saying stupid stuff), I'd draft a QB atleast every 2-3 years. These are the ultimate lotto ticket and worth burning a pick late

Wait they have Drake Maye and Brissett but are willing to give up on a "Highly Touted" Prospect for a Future 3rd.... Sorry if he cannot beat out those 2 there has got be an issue with him.
Maye is one of the best QB prospects in the league and a 1st round pick just a year ago. NE choosing Maye over Milton should not be viewed as a red flag.

The possible upside makes him worth a third to some teams but you have to have a means to let him get his reps, not stick him on the bench behind the guy you just signed to a record deal that you can’t get out of for at least 2-3 seasons.
This is the big issue. The same as it was for the 4th rounder they totally wasted on Trey Lance.

If you’re committed to your starter for several years - which they’ve locked themselves into financially - there’s no point in investing a premium draft pick in a guy who won’t get reps to develop and won’t see the field before his contract is up.

Couple things;
* he was drafted in the 6th round (2024)
* 5th round pick is the highest I'm offering
* The article suggests they likely won't trade him until AFTER the draft ( doesn't make sense )
* If rumors are true, they are asking for a 3rd round....I'M out, move on

Current players usually have their lowest trade value right before the draft.
Draft picks have their highest value right before the draft.
Trading a 3rd after the draft is much more palatable to teams after the draft when they haven’t been scouting multiple players to target with the pick for the last 3 months!

I'm sure the Cowboys name is at the top of their list....LOL!

Has a cannon arm but is sorely lacking in just about every other NFL QB trait.
I mentioned it in a previous post about that on this staff there is no qualified QB developer/whisperer or mentor to train any project or pedigreed QB a modern 2025 style passing game.
So getting him wouldn't matter.

Major knock on this staff.
When the opponent loads the box to stop the run this year, and they will, the team is still back to square one with inept quarterbacking and coaching.

Need someone to shake loose from the tree of Reid, McVay, Shanahan or Payton school of mentoring QBs.
Don't have anything close to that.

Highly touted? Yeah, by whom?

Milton is a big strong armed dummy. Poor man's Ryan Leaf.

Only reason Milton is on the market is that he will not make the team anyway. Oh, and because some dummy GM might be willing to give up draft picks for this non-NFL player. I mean, this dude sucks.

They know Dak cant play a full season anymore.

The Cowboys are not looking to trade for a future starter. They are looking for a veteran backup. The hunt for a potential starter is probably at least two seasons away.

That's just it, no way in hell they are getting double for a guy's value within 1 year w/o even starting a game........
If I'm being honest, it's downright funny............ :lmao2:

NO.

Which of those links says he is "looks like he's headed to the CFL" as you said?
On Wednesday, TSN reported the Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders added Lance to their negotiation list. The CFL team will have exclusive rights should Lance decide to play north of the border. Lance started his rookie season as a backup to Jimmy Garoppolo and was only able to start two games.

Nothing guaranteed yet but I have seen rumblings. The key word here is MAY
