Five teams pursued Andy Dalton after the Bengals released him. One of those reportedly was the Jets. Rich Cimini of ESPN reports the Jets "flirted with" Dalton before he signed with the Cowboys, and the interest was "mutual." The Jets need a veteran a quarterback and should sign one. They currently have David Fales and [more]

The NY Jets were interested in Andy Dalton?? That makes me feel a whole lot better knowing this ..(rolls eyes).

Makes sense since Darmold hasn't played a full season yet and I bet Gase is feeling the heat

No surprise he turned down the Jets or any other team in the northeast, especially the New York area, it's a death zone. Would you move your family/kids up there with the virus issues going on? I wouldn't.....

Yeah, sometimes less pay is worth peace of mind.

Well, whatever.

We got him and he’s easily our best backup since probably Kyle Orton.

I’d actually feel confident we could win with him for a stretch based on all the talent he’s surrounded with.

agreed. Throw in he is from Texas ... went to school at tcu and has already stated is going to go back often and visit.

Toss in we are much much closer on paper to a super bowl than the jets

I'm glad we got him. It makes a huge difference to have a quality backup. Anyone remember the likes of Babe Laufenberg having to play in relief of Aikman? It was a disaster. When we had Beuerlein or Kosar, it was so much better, and we did end up needing those guys.

The Jets were 7-6 with Darnold and a massive 0-3 train wreck without him last season. Makes sense they'd have reached out to Dalton.

Why didn’t they trade for him because Rivers is shot!

Must've been some trash teams because the Pats surely didn't want him.

Agree....odd signing. Hell, they only gave him a one-year deal. That doesn't project a lot of confidence at all. Just me but it seems they would have been off signing Cam or even Winston. At least Winton young and with more coaching, who knows and can't tell Cam doesn't have more upside than Rivers.

If you are not getting starting contract offers then either Cowboys or Patriots are the teams to sign with.

What happened to Orton again? Didn’t he retire and then come back to join the Bills? Didn’t like the country club, JG and the train horns after TD’s
