I don't want McClain back. We're winning with less talented players that are team guys. Bringing in a knucklehead may screw up the mojo we got going on. Don't chance it. We got a hungry team that wants to win, don't bring in a guy who just wants a paycheck. That attitude might rub off onto other players.

Returning him at this point is asking for a injury settlement. He gonna pull, tear, break or concuss something

he's a dumb idiot for sure...but come a "run" in the playoffs or an injury...and he will be here quickly.

Sounds like Jerry talked to Garrett and Garrett said no. Which is exactly what I keep saying - Jerry doesn't call the shots, Garrett does. Technically Jerry could of course as he is the owner, but he doesn't. Despite the overwhelming amount of people on this forum who are wrong about this reality.
nothing like some self speculation validation...

The same may not be true of linebacker Rolando McClain. McClain will be eligible to return from his 10-game suspension next week, but Jones said Thursday, via Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, that McClain will not be returning to the roster.

“He’s in shape. Rolando is really somebody who helped us when he was here, but I really don’t want to get into when or if he might be joining us. I’ve communicated with him several times in the offseason and talked to him on the phone. Yes, he does want to play, but there is more detail that I’m not going to get into right now.”

He should have already been cut. I hate the fact that we still coddle players that think the substances are more important than their jobs.

I say this all the time. You have a 10 year window if you're lucky. 2 or 3 major paydays. Make that money and then when you hit 30 or 32 yrs old you can smoke that cheeb & drank that purp until your insides explode.

I'm not a fan of the way we've handled Gregory either. He's no RKG. Why is he still here?

Don't care what he has done before. IF he is in shape and still wants to play, let him play. You can always let him go after the season is over and never even think of him again.

But that's a big if and he might not even be clean.

Next week is a short week, so it makes sense not to bring him in and rush things.
He could've been in Frisco working out and going to meetings all season but he never even bothered to show up for Training Camp.......at least Gregory and JSmith have been at the Star working hard

I'm not advocating bringing him back, but if Lee were to get hurt I think this board would flip opinion..

He does not deserve to wear the star, blokes.
He is best suited to a loser status.

My heart says good riddance. My head says, as another pointed out, we'd be right thin at LB if Lee went down. IF he's in shape, which I highly doubt, then let's have a look. He could get into football shape by the playoffs if he's brought in soon.

Does he get a roster exemption for a few by any chance?

One of the hallmarks of this defense has been its ability to bring players off the bench and adequately replace injured starters. I believe another hallmark has been the lack of utter blown assignments. They're playing smart and disciplined, and seem hungry.

Enter McClain?

Meh. I don't think he fits the mold of what we are building. Talented, sure. But the notion that he would walk in from wherever he's been, and for as long as he's been away, and make any kind of contribution seems unlikely.

Pass.
