Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo recently said that he’ll play in the team’s next preseason game, on Saturday night against the Ravens. But how long will Romo play? Typically, a starting quarterback who isn’t facing a challenge from an upstart rookie remains on the field for as long as the rest of the starting offense does. …http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2274066&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Per Archer:

Romo will make his preseason debut Saturday against the Ravens, and if form holds he will play 10-14 plays, based on Garrett’s history, before calling it a night.

A lot of times the starting QB's playing time is determined by the success of the first drive.
If they drive down and score, I think they pull him.
If not, he'll probably go a second series.
I'd think the absolute cap would be the 10-14 plays mentioned by Archer.

I want to see him take a hit and how he recovers from it.

I'd prefer he not take a hit for a long time.
This line should keep him upright.
Brady had years where he seemed like he'd go weeks without even a finger touching him.

Don't care. Just don't let him get hurt. Not just because of the back injury, but it's just what I worry about every preseason when our starters are in. Week 3 is the worst, since everybody is playing more snaps, but any time they're out there I'm holding my breath.
