Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee will watch $2 million of future salary disappear when the Cowboys’ defense is on the field for the 27th play of the day today.

Lee’s contract calls for his salary to be $5 million in 2016 if he plays at least 80 percent of the Cowboys’ defensive snaps in 2015, but only $3 million if he plays less than 80 percent of the Cowboys’ defensive snaps. So far this season, Lee has played 812 of the Cowboys’ 989 snaps, or 82.1 percent.

I guess when you have millions it doesn't matter.

Still a tough pill to swallow for sitting out half a game.

That's a shame because nobody on the team deserves it more than he does in such a lost season.

But the good news is he won't have a chance to get hurt in the last game and have a full and productive off season. He should be a monster again next year.

Fitting actually - he's been paid a lot for missed time so this evens it out.

Plus he showed enough this year to get a reworked contract to stick around next year.

Going forward I'll take about 13 games a year - it was more than I expected this season.
