A league source tells us that there are rumblings that Eagles guard Shawn Andrews might not show up for training camp, apparently due to displeasure with his contract.

Andrews is another one of the young Eagles players who signed an early-career contract that extends into the next decade. In Andrews’ case, he’s signed through 2015.

The first-round pick in the 2004 draft is due to earn a base salary of $2.98 million in 2008. And if he thinks that’s too low, he’ll be really pissed off in 2009, when his base salary drops to $750,000.

If he doesn’t report, he’ll be subject to fines of more than $15,000 per day, and he could be required to pay back a portion of the bonus money.

Man the Eagles front office is just getting murdered by all these bogus contracts they gave out.

And before you crow ,yes i know the players signed it, but you tell me, who would be more adept to understanding numbers, GM or a player?

***? These numbers seem whack. Don't rookies generally sign five or six-year deals? If he was drafted in 2004, what did he do, sign a new contract?

Through 2015?? For this kind of money? Somebody needs to be fired for this -- and by somebody, I mean his agent. That is one seriously ****ty contract.

i think they probably resigned him in like 2006 gave him huge money in 2007, and then crap money for the net 3 years, followed by huge money in the later years.

He signed a 7-year 40 mil extension after only two hears in the league. Guess it sounded like a good idea at the time.

He must have spent all his upfront money. You can't have it both ways.

So When Does Shawn Andrews Start *****ing?
Now that Lito Sheppard has established the guideline that two Pro Bowls qualifies a player to complain about his contract and then get moved out of town, when do we start hearing from Shawn Andrews?

Andrews is arguably the team's second-best player at his position -- and he's still only 25 years old. (Did you know Andrews was born on Christmas Day? Of course he was.) And while he's only two years removed from signing a new contract and getting $10 million in bonus payments, check out his salaries over the next eight seasons the Eagles have him:

2008 - $780,000
2009 - $750,000
2010 - $2,000,000
2011 - $2,500,000
2012 - $2,750,000
2013 - $3,750,000
2014 - $5,250,000
2015 - $6,250,000

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. :laugh2:

It is kinda sore... Ouch. :p:

But hey, I wasn't going out on too much of a limb. This was more like predicting that Nors would make a post I couldn't understand.

As I said, his agent needs to be fired immediately -- what a dumb *****' contract.
