Absolutely. If he can't win the starting job he sure can help elevate Campbell's play by creating real competition. This would be a good move by Washington and Campbell isn't the type of QB that can show he's not willing to compete. So repairing the relationship?

Campbell is the one that has to prove himself. He's had a fair amount of time to do that. Anyways, it's the Skins, I hope Leftwich doesn't go there. Like their present QB situation the way it is.

What Leftwich proven in this league other than that he is an average player?

Leftwich reminds me of Bledsoe. The statue of Landry in front of Texas Stadium has more lateral moves.

I'd look forward to the Commanders starting this guy. The record for sacks by one player in one game has to be around six. Ware might get that by half time.

We saw Leftwich two years ago, Ware was blanked out of that game and we lost.

I can't believe a lot of these teams aren't going after Leftwich.

Dude can play.
After a month into free agency, it appears only Washington agrees with you.

Oh, so the Skins have hired the Jags offensive line now, huh?

There is so much wrong with this reply you made I could write a couple of paragraphs.

This.

I'd rather have Jeff Garcia as a backup to campbell than leftwhich. At least garcia is equipped to function properly in a WCO.

The stupidest part about this is Leftwich is not am improvement over Campbell. In fact I'd rather have Campbell, who Danny boy continues to alienate. Jacksonville who needs a QB cut him. With Danny at the helm the Skins will never be more than 8-8. Frustrated owner playing GM. A familiar story.

Skins were....10-6 in 1999, 10-6 in 2005 and 9-7 in 2007, so I dont think that theory is accurate.

There's a big difference between Kitna and Leftwich. Not only did Kitna show that he's been a more than capable starter, but he's a guy that has never had a problem backing up and helping young QB's learn. Leftwich has no plans on that and wants to be a starter. I'd rather take Kitna and have him backup and draft a QB in the 4th round who has some talent and is hungry to be a starter some day and have Kitna help coach him and work as a sounding board for Romo (which Brad Johnson wasn't willing to do and I don't think Leftwich is interested in it either).

Man I wouldn't like to see that happen... He's still a young, accurate and strong armed QB.

This makes perfect sense... I mean, I know when I think "West Coast quarterback", the first name that pops to mind is "Byron Leftwich"...

Considering they just tried to trade Campbell, I think they're bringing him to compete with Campbell, not Collins.

Can you say "quarterback controversy"??

I knew that you could...

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the WCO, but I would think if you are running it you would be looking for a guy with excellent pre-snap recognition, quick decision making, a fast release and excellent accuracy, esp. hitting guys in stride.

Both of the these guys are QBs who take an eternity to set up, go through reads slowly, wind up like a major league pitcher, and while either of them can rip the intermediate and long stuff they struggle hitting the short throws in stride.

What am I missing?

The lobotomy that Danny Boy apparently demands of all his employees...

Gees. I wish the Cowboys had given Leftwich a run instead of Kitna and we could've kept Anthony Henry to boot.

Yeah, I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since then, either...

Leftwich makes Deadslow seem like a mobile QB. You better have your OL in tact before you start him as your QB.
