'SKINS TO CLEAN HOUSE AFTER THE DRAFT?

There's talk in league circles that the Washington Commanders will clean out the personnel department following the 2007 draft.

It's presently unclear whether V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato would be caught up in the rumored purge. Cerrato was fired by the team during the failed Marty Schottenheimer experiment, and re-hired after Marty was Schott-canned.

Per the 2006 NFL Record & Fact Book, the front office also includes director of pro personnel Louis Riddick, director of college scouting Scott Campbell, pro scouts Terry Ray and Donnie Warren, college scouts Mike Faulkiner, Tim Gribble, Shemy Schembechler, and Jim Zeches, national scouts Russ Bolinger and Joel Patten, and director of football administrtion Eric Schaffer.

The Commanders have a draft?

They have a high first round pick.

So what if it is the only one they have on the first day.:laugh2:

Seriously I imagine they trade down.

The Commanders could become legitimate again with just one move...

Get rid of The Midget...

or

to at least try and get better, git rid of St. Gibbs...

If both of those knuckheads were gone, the Commander fans could start breathing easy again...until then, it will be the same old same...

And, that is fine by me!!

;)

What this is going to finally do is reveal the stupidity that is Gosselins grading system where you are actually rewarded for not having low or midround picks.

I actually thought that for as few draft picks as they've had to work with, the Commanders have done pretty well. Nothing wrong with finding Chris Cooley in the 3rd round and Kendrick Golston in the 6th. But I guess they'll be made the scapegoat for Gibbs.

it may be just me, but I think Danny should think about rebuilding the whole team, front office and on-field personnel, plugging holes in FA to remain competitive just hasn't worked, he should just start thinking about biting the bullet

I don't know how they can blame the scouts when they never have any draft picks.

The day the Commanders finally rid themselves of Vinny Cerrato is a day every Cowboys fan should fear.

That will be the day that Washington takes their first big step toward being a contender again.

I hope they clean out their college scouts. They've actually done well with the few draft picks they've had.

I actually agree with this somewhat.

This season, or this and next, will be gibbs' last seasons here. They will probably try and make one last push at a postseason run while he is here. After he is gone, I wouldn't be totally opposed to rebuilding this franchise. We have one of the oldest teams in the league right now. This is going to be inevitable at some point. I would much rather them do it sooner then later.

This method worked in the George Allen days. Not in today's NFL.

Been saying that on these forums for 4 years now.

If that happens, at least they will have accomplished alot during his tenure.

It didn't work in George Allen's day either, unless your name was George Allen. Do people really get what a gifted coach he was?
