Cowboys Source: Dalton Signing Not 'Meant as Threat' to QB Dak

Dalton was selected by the Bengals in the second round of the 2011 Draft after having starred at TCU. Various reports inaccurately suggest his only home base is Fort Worth; in fact, the Dalton family owns a home in University Park, making them a virtual neighbor of the Jones family.

It doth seem he recently purchased a home in university park. Now his kids can attend the highland park schools.. I'll have to go and introduce myself. I like the signing.

These media posts that start with “A person close to” only proves two things. Is the person really close to that person or not? Lol

The ultimate Dallas power play would entail stripping the franchise tender from Dak. That’s highly unlikely, but it wouldn’t be crazy for the Cowboys to at least ponder whether, dollar for dollar, Dalton at up to $7 million represents a better value than Prescott at $31.4 million.

That's a fair question if you actually do something with the extra $24 million.

As you said, not likely. But certainly food for thought. When belichik concludes signing a player isn't going to happen, he makes a move to get something for the player.

He’s a DFW kid, he took a hometown discount to come home and recenter before re-entering the market next year in what presumably should be a more normal FA period. If he ever has to play he’s in a great position to look good and boost his value (preseason will be big). Solid move by him.
Next year he will be on the look for a starters job again
Probably won’t happen so I suspect he finishes out his career at home

Not for andy. But Stephen is running out of patience with the self chosen one.
Stephen and Jerry anointed Dak the chosen one. They did this publicly over and over again for a couple of seasons. What else is Dak suppose to think after having his butt kissed so often for so long by the Jones boys? They created this monster. Dak just made the mistake of believing them.
