Will Commanders make a play for Lamar Jackson?​

This would little Danny Synder the last laugh against his 31 partners trying to kick him out of the league (LOL). This would be the extraordinary exception to the rule......Synder giving caving to Jackson just to tick off other owners.

Giving Jackson a fully-guaranteed deal (which the Ravens likely wouldn’t match) also would stick new ownership with the bulk of the bill. And it likely wouldn’t affect the purchase price. Anyone who owns the team will have cap and cash obligations. Jackson will simply be part of the player payroll for the new owner.

Then there’s the most fascinating point. With fully-guaranteed contracts for veteran players currently frowned upon, Snyder could give his soon-to-be-former partners a gigantic middle finger as he rides his superyacht into the sunset.

I hope they do it, it would guarantee the team will be irrelevant until 2040, giving up 2 first rounders plus the guaranteed money. Yeah Jackson is great running QB with more of an emphasis on the running part, the rest of the team would degrade, especially the WR corps. WR die under Jackson.

Washington finished the 2022 season 8-8-1....in spite of having poor QB play and having a HC that is an idiot savant.

The 8 games lost were by a combined 86 points.....or just under 11 points a game.....4 of the losses were by a combined 24 points, or an average of 6 points a game......so with just a legitimate QB Washington could have easily been a 12-13 win team....

If you think Lamar Jackson isn't good for an additional 7 points a game I do not know what to tell you.

So what will be the cost to keep that 8-8 team together in lieu of paying Jackson. The players they may lose could be worth 4 or 5 of those other wins you claim Jackson will get them. Therefore still roughly 8-8.

I mean this is what so fans claim Dak‘s cap hit will cost keeping better players.
Or doesn’t it work that way with other teams.

That would be a hoot and I wouldn't put it past Snyder. They haven't shown public interest but that could change.
