'We're #1! We're #1!'

I am interested in knowing how PFT determines the rankings. Is it based on a combination of their ability, productivity, and age? Do they take an estimate of what they are going to be paid into account?

And there are loads of people in here that legitimately think the Cowboys and other teams would be better off with the likes of Winston or Rivers at QB...not sure if you guys follow the sport of football or you just like saying ridiculous things

Ridiculous.........like signing a guy for 35-40 million who just went 8-8 surrounded by the most talented supporting cast in the NFL? There are 2 sides to this coin.

they put the names in a hat and pick them out wearing blindfolds.

It depends on the money vs Dak..

Dallas is currently Zeke's team. So we don't have to have an all world QB..

Jameis, Rivers, ect... Just need to come here and be care takers at the position.

We're not going to see a big drop off with one of those guys as our QB IMO and I think a lot of guys would have a Ryan Tannehill like turn around in this environment.

They use the Cowboys rankings.

When under contract they are decent and average.

When they a free agents they are world beaters.

Remember how they judged Mo, Carr, Wilcox and Church lol

If teams around the league truly feel he is the #1 FA available, then you should be able to work out a tag and trade scenario.

I just can't see giving a QB who relies on others to enhance his game vs him making those around him better that much cap space.

Thats what I'm saying.

The timing of this list publishing is no coincidence. Tomorrow players start getting tagged and the list of possible free agents begins to get widdled down. Between then and March 10th, a considerable amount of the names on this list will be claimed by a tag of some sort, either franchise of transitional. You can be assured that the 3 Cowboys named in the top 15, two of them are getting tagged and the third, most likely Byron Jones will be signed or thrown to the bidders and I don't see being signed by the Cowboys as the more likely scenario unless Dak or Amari get a deal and then the last tag will go to Byron.

Overpaying for Dak (and Cooper for that matter) is gonna mean bye bye Byron and Quinn.

I'm not a Jameis fan at all. I think he has the wrong mental makeup for the position.. He's too much of a knucklehead and for me Dak > Jameis all day.

With that said... If Jameis signs a 3 year deal for 25 mill a year then give me Jameis.

I think the Cowboys Oline and emphasis on the run game allows him to be a bus driver and you cut down those turnovers.

If Brady goes to Tennessee then Tannehill would also be an excellent option in our offense.

Dak ranked #1 over Brees and Brady....hmmm....:muttley:

Means nothing, I don't get riled up over rankings. But it is nice to be at or have a player #1 for a change.
