PFW: Insider: Phillips still a good fit in Dallas

That was all on Parcells. He picked Barbie because his dad played for Parcells with the Giants.

Parcells also wanted to draft Spears over Ware and was overruled by Jerry in the war room. The thinking was that both were going to be gone by the time Dallas was on the board again so the scenario became "if you can only get 1 of them, who do you take"???

Like I said, Parcells wanted Spears (even if it meant Ware was gone when Dallas was on the clock again) and Jerry said no and overruled Parcells and made the decision to draft Ware.
Yeah, but that was merely a decision based on what the other 7 teams drafting inbetween the 2 picks strategy was. It seems like Parcells and Jerry both wanted the Spears/Ware package, just were on different pages as far as seeing which one was slipping (or in Ware's case, climbing.) Regardless, I thank whoeover's idea it really was whole heartedly!

I dunno - I don't see everyone playing 100% for Wade. I see missed arm tackles every single week and sloppy OL for at least 3 years running. In fairness to him, he's done a decent job, but I think he's ridden the train as far as it's gonna go, perhaps one more stop, but it won't be enough.

............Sarge is right...and so is Ware who said they were "outplayed" last week vs. the Giants. You can read into that statement alot of ways but getting "outplayed" in Dec. under the michelin man has become all too familiar: if they don't win today they won't make the playoffs IMO: this is the biggest game in michelin's cowboy coaching career IMO. Put up or shut up and go away time for him.....

Money will not motivate Jerry. When he signs a corporate sponsor tickets sells will mean nothing.

I'd definitely disagree with that statement.

I don't see the big-money corporate sponsor now, much less if Wade stays after yet another disappointing season.

And it's not just ticket sales we're talking about it, it's the whole package.

Speaking for myself and other fans, I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy the latest overpriced merchandise representing a mediocre team that I wasn't happy with.

If Wade doesn't win a playoff game, it shows that he's not making progress and if anything, is going backward.

No way Jerry can "sell him" to the fanbase, no matter how easy he is to "work with".

i don't think you can motivate those guys. it's a talent problem.

That's a pretty interesting assessment, but it's completely wrong. That stadium is not gonna sell out unless fans are happy with the product. There's no way that Wade stays unless we're successful this month and next.

There would be absolute rebellion if it occurred. The fans wanted him out last year and pretty much chalked this season up to a wash. I don't think they'll stay patient again for another offseason, particularly with the big name coaches up for grabs. The good teams are getting better, and we seem to be getting worse.

If this month unfolds the way it's looking right now, somebody is gonna need to come in and right this ship.

...and Ginger is not the answer.

Have you already started drinking today?

The new stadium DOES sell itself. Jerry is under no pressure to cow tow to fans. He is however under pressure to get home playoff games if he wants that huge gate. That's why his weird edict was get a home playoff game.

Don't get me wrong. I think without a playoff win Wade gets fired. I don't think it will be money that motivates Jerry. He does and has always wanted to win.

If Jerry liked Wade so much why has he not picked up the contract extension option for next season?
