PFW Insider: Ware belongs to exclusive club

may be my definition of greatness is different from yours. it doesn't have to be sacks all the time, it could be pressures, forcing the QB to throw few seconds earlier than he wants to, forcing teams to use 2 players all the time.

I love Ware, don't get me wrong, In the Saints game, he dominted the game completely for us and won the game for us. I like to see that performance in playoffs and consistently during regular season

What's funny is that Ware had 56 QB pressures last year. The next closest player had 36. Only one player had more QB hits than Ware and that was Anthony Spencer.

he must not be "Great" ya'kno, and we should also draft a LB to replace Spencer because people don't believe in him enough. :bang2:

I think we are arguing about a very fine line between very very good and greatness. I believe he will take tha next step, break the sack record and win the defense MVP a couple of times before his career is over and we both will be on the same page. Again, I love ware, he is the only player I watch the game for

Ware has 64.5 sacks after 5 years

Dwight Freeney has 84 career sacks and had 56.5 sacks after his first 5 seasons.

Charles Haley had 100.5 career sacks and had 56.5 sacks after his first 5 seasons.

Lawrence Taylor had 132.5 career sacks and had 41 sacks after his first 5 seasons. Unfortunately the sack was not an official record his rookie season of 1981, but even if it was his total would be far less than the 64.5 that Ware has after 5 years.

Ware is on a great pace and he can get better. Those around him can get better as well, which will only help Ware.

The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches and front-office personnel, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

• "(Cowboys OLB) DeMarcus Ware has everything you want in a (rush) linebacker. If you watched all of his sacks, there are 7-8 different ways he could beat a guy. He can bend, counter, power and transition. There's a lot more to him than just one move. There are not many guys like him."

This can't be right. According to some here, Ware only has one move -- the outside speed rush.

Ah, what do NFL personnel know.

All Ware has got to do is keep it up and stay healthy.

Wouldn't hurt to have Butler and Williams take a series here and there for Demarcus and Spencer to be full force for the 4th Q.

How sick would that be?

So he has to be the all-time sack leader to go from "very very good" to "great?" Oh, and just throw in a couple Defensive MVPs....?

im against taking out one of the best defensive players of all time in D-Ware. In Spencer, he can use the rest. D-Ware just keeps going.

someone put bob in their sig?

I don't even know how to react to that.

Get out, because D-Ware will be regarded as a top 5 defensive player of all time. Haley ain't in the top 20.
I would say Haley is top-20.

I'm so glad Jerry overruled Parcells in picking Ware over Spears if what I hear is true.

In addition to that, Jerry picked Ware over Merriman. For a while it looked like we picked the wrong guy. Turns out we didn't. Ware is a class act and and a future Hall of Famer if he keeps up this same level of play. I am so glad we have him.

he needs to learn a spin move before he could ever be great.

edit: and I totally didn't see the white "lol"! well played, sir. well played!

I'd take Charles Haley in his prime over him.

I liked Charles Haley. I wish Ware had his same nastiness, but I'll take Ware.

Oh I agree because he's not great now.
