I'm starting to think Parcells is going to be around here a lot longer then anyone else believes. And with him controls the quarterback position. People like to count those NE and NYJ stints as real, like it averages out saying Parcells is only typically on a team for 4 or so years, but when in reality health and circumstance drove him away from both of those last two jobs. I look at his time with the Giants as the most comparable situation where BP is concerned, and thus think Parcells could be here for many years more to come.
This year Bledsoe starts, no question about it, and he also starts again next season UNLESS we don't win immediately and Parcells finds a better option-----Chad Pennington anybody? His situation in NY is quickly drying up and you just know before long he's going to be moving. The question is to where? And probably only one man still has hope remaining in him, and he's the one calling our shots, the man who loves players he's already invested interest in. The same man who drafted him and never got a chance to work with him personally and I'd bet would really want to if given the chance. Sure he's rough around the edges but Parcells had to have seen something in him to draft him in the first round. I'm willing to bet Parcells still wsants to see what this kid is made of.
I tell ya, if Chad was smart, this is what he should be aiming towards. He has to see the rush of other former Parcells players heading south to Dallas, and the trend that's always followed the man that drafted him. He's finished for all intents and purposes in NY, if for anything he shouldn't stay on principle alone. He's still young and if Parcells thinks he could work with him, could be exactly what we need. Also the closest thing to "franchise qb" that we have within our grasp for now or anytime in the near future.
I can't believe noone has mentioned his name yet. Is it crazy that I just did?
