Eagles | Philadelphia a potential landing spot for Staley?
Tue, 22 Aug 2006 14:50:41 -0700

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports if the Pittsburgh Steelers trade or release RB Duce Staley, one possible landing spot would seem to be the Philadelphia Eagles who, to date, have not had any trade conversations with the Steelers. Should Staley be released, and it is within the realm of possibility, the Eagles could be on the list of teams interested in his services. In recent seasons, the Eagles have made a habit out of bringing back longtime contributors and fan favorites. The Eagles are in the market for a big back and, earlier this week, visited with free agent RB Stephen Davis (Panthers).

Damn, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. The Piggles are starting to look like us during the Campo reign of error.

When SIRIUS radio was at Steeler camp they were commenting that Staley was fat and out of shape. They tried to soften it a bit by saying he'd work it off at camp but with his reecent injury history and age I'm skeptial.

The RB situation may very well be PIT's achilles heel. I'm not convinced Willie Parker is all that.

Similarly, it's going to be a disaster for the Beagles.

Duce Staley used to kill the Boyz. He may be old and injured, but he brings back bad memories.

I'd like to see him in his prime against this defense. I'm not sure he would kill us. Don't think me too much of a homer. I went to SC and have followed Duce with pride since he left home. He was a very good and tough RB; someone to respect.

I suspect his days are over though. I certainly don't fear him playing us anymore.
