That's so true. Every NFL segment on ESPN and on NFLN, most of the analysts just discounted the loss.
Since the majority of them were convinced the Eagles were the "best team in football" it is only natural that they try to retain some measure of dignity and stick to their guns.

I, for one, cannot wait for the reaction by the likes of Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson when we win again.

Then it will be, "okay, but they won't stop Favre!". Then it will be, "they can't go to New Orleans and win twice!" or "Aaron Rodgers and the Packers beat them before".

It should be entertaining, which is why I want this win very badly. And two others. Well, three if you are getting technical.

I was curious after listening to the media about how Philadelphia was one of the hottest teams in the league going into last weeks game, so I looked up who they beat over the past six weeks (Chicago, Washington, Altanta, New York Giants, San Francisco, and Denver) -- only one team with winning record, Atlanta. None of these teams are in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Dallas played the toughest schedule down the stretch. So Dallas should be well tested and ready to win it's first playoff since 1996.

I think outside of the Chargers they had the longest winning streak if I am not mistaken. I guess that is what they mean by hot.

Aikman kinda pissed me off this past game! Many times during the game he was making references about NOT what the Cowboys were doing BUT what the eagles were not doing.

He seemed many times to not give credit to how the Cowboys played, but how the eagles did not play! Now, he goes on about how this next game might not be in the Cowboys favor because "the eagles have play makers on every side of the ball"....blah, blah, blah....

I love the guy, but, like he used to say...

"Get real"!!

While the Cowboys played well, the Eagles did come out flat too. They had several dropped passes and of course Samuel put a hurting on their defense always trying to pick off Romo and instead getting seriously burned in the process.

So what? Is that the Cowboys fault?

All I'm saying is that even though the Cowboys man-handled the eagles, it was the eagles fault, not a good Cowboy team...at least to them.

They got out played and out coached. Philly had the opportunity to make adjustments from their 1st loss to us in Philly and in the end they could not do the job. They had no answers to stop the Cowboys offense and could not manage much on offense.

By John Smallwood

That can't possibly be his real name, can it?

What Dallas has in the trenches on both sides is capable of overpowering the Eagles at the line of scrimmage.

What Dallas needs is a quarterback to exploit the Eagles' defensive scheme, and that is what Tony Romo has become.

What the Cowboys need to neutralize the Eagles' quick-strike ability is what they have in their pass rush and secondary.

But if you are Reid and you have a game to play on Saturday, you can't tell your team that the other guys are superior.

You can concede that those guys just handed you your butts, but you can't say the same thing will happen the next time.

So Reid couched things.
Do you think Mr. Smallwood realizes that paragraphs can be more than one sentence long?

If both teams play their "A" games, the Cowboys will win.

If both teams play their "B" games, the Cowboys will win.

If the Eagles play well and the Cowboys are more than a little bit off, the Birds have a chance.

The truth is, the Eagles can't win. The Cowboys can only lose.
This is not just true of the Eagles, but every other team on the 2009-2010 schedule this year. Every game, with perhaps the exception of the Chargers game, was a game that the Cowboys should have won if not for beating themselves with either stupid penalties or stupid turnovers.

They are their own worst enemy. The turnovers and negative plays have been minimized in recent weeks, and thus the December win streak.

The Packers flat-out beat us. The Broncos played us at least even - it's a game we could've won, not a game we should've won. I see the Chargers game the other way - we get in the end zone from the one, we don't miss a FG, and that game could go either way.

I agree. The San Diego Chargers did beat Dallas in every category it seemed....I never felt like we had a chance in that game. And the fact that it was at home was even worse. I think San Diego will win the AFC and make the superbowl. Ironically, Turner got a contract extension while Phillips is hanging on....

If we are lucky, we may see a rematch in the superbowl. Dallas will have to continue to play better each week. All three phases must execute at a higher level in the playoffs. Nothing is easy...playoff victories are hard to come by -- and even harder on the road.

What I love is how a Giants fan over at Bleacher Report decides to write an article saying the "Eagles" will go to the superbowl. Are NFC Rival "writers" truly against us or what! I mean I'd except nothing short, or nothing complimentary coming anyone who hates us. I think it's something in the water along the Delaware, and Hudson Rivers that makes these people truly the biggest jerks ever. I just want to see the Cowboys win their first playoff game since 96, and shut these idiots up!

Wow, decent article. He is going to get lynched in Philly.

No he won't. Other than that eagle apologists Howard eskin most in philly call it down the middle. They've been wanting to get rid of Reid and mcnabb for the last 2 seasons. Reid just got an extension, but if they lose mcnab may have played his last game in an eagle uniform which suites me just fine.

Please do not get sucked into believing anything from the Bleacher Report is relevant or anything close to an "article".

All teams in the playoffs are tough to beat. But Minnesota at home may be the toughest of all. The writer should have selected them if he hates the Cowboys.

You have to admit that people are polarized on the Cowboys, you love or hate them... And things tend to run in cycles, meaning that it is time for a serious up cycle for the Cowboys. 60's avg, 70's great, 80's avg, 90's great, 00's bad, 10's (hope for great again).:D

I will half-heartedly agree about Green Bay, but the difference in the Broncos game was the touchdown pass from Orten to Moreno which went straight through the hands of Spencer. That should have been six going the other way.

He was positioned perfectly. There wasn't anyone in front of him who could have gotten in his way. All he had to do was close his hands onto the ball. Heck, the replay does not even show much light between both of his hands and the ball. He did everything perfectly EXCEPT nab the interception.
