I have been silent for over a year or two and sadly it was for the good. This place has been so negative. For those that want to run and show their love elsewhere, please run and choose another team. For those of us that are Cowboys for life, prepare for another year that explains a lot, but will the GM understand what he is seeing? I think we all agree Jerry is more the problem then anything else. The culture is dismal and having our own players (still employed or not) talk s**t about us is just another reason we are the laughing stock of the NFL. This week I saw a defense that did a hell of a job, quit after seeing the offense crap on them by the end of the first half. The killer was two red zone moments at the 6 yard line only equal 3 points.Anyone who was adding C. Rush in their Super Flex this week is crying the blues. Sadly I had no choice, he was the only starter when I lost a starter for the year and my other starter was on a bye this week. (Thanks for the negative numbers Rush). Crap happens and if it was a one off, I would understand. I think we all know better. Doesn't matter who plays, if our team continues to quit, we are doomed. Not sure if another HC could change the culture if he wanted to after this weak showing this late in the season.
It may take a coach with a sledgehammer that is willing to use it to scare this team straight. While I understand business decisions and not getting hurt after it became a blowout, This team has no heart and I fear they quit far too easily. The defense did a great job in the first half, only to give up after the offense crapped the bed in the first half. This is not acceptable. You need to be trying to win the whole 60 minutes to become a SB contender. While KC has the team and the refs, they never gave up and somehow won this week. While it is true we shall never have the refs on our side, we should be winning in spite of. This culture needs a hard *** coach. One that will hold your feet to the fire and hold you accountable. The owner is paying Millions for subpar performance. While I and many others disagree with his hiring and contract negotiations, he is paying those he thinks will contribute to a winning season. I hate that he caved in and paid Dak a fortune, but lets be honest, how many would not pay for the runner up to the MVP last year?
I still stand with those that believe a QB that can't get you to a SB in his rookie contract, never will, but that is my belief. Regardless, I understand paying someone that was considered the second best in the league last year. I just wish they did their homework and saw his numbers were inflated when we played crap teams vs winning teams in the NFL. It speaks volumes and also explains our playoff history the last 8 years. While this does bash our QB, there is far more blame to go around. We have a beast of a pass rusher that talks crap about out team. It is clear he is rather passionate or wants out. Maybe he saw the money going to a middling QB and a top 10 WR damning. Maybe he has lost faith with a dead duck coaching regime. Whatever the reason, he should be playing each play regardless if he is to be here after his contract or not. His play will decide his next contract regardless of the team.
Yes the injuries and setbacks have been rough this year. We lost a lot of good players along the way. Sadly every team deals with such so it is not an excuse. We need to continue playing hard and playing like we give a s**t. While we are stuck with an owner that want's to be GM, lets hope he finds a HC next year that will change the culture. Yea Jerry is the problem, but if he gets a hard *** that the team respects, just maybe they will win despite him. Here is to hoping.
