Can somebody explain this or confirm if I am right

I was looking at over the cap and Spotrac. And Philip is like 20 million over the cap. They are going to have to renegotiate with a lot of players. Even with the pending release of Vinny Curry
 
Remember Curry is probably gone, Smith is most likely gone, and Donnie Jones retired. How much is it without those three?

Then let’s assume Foles is traded, how much is it then? I’m not good with the cap stuff lol.
 
Philly will restructure a few players to get under.

That pushes their CAP hits into future years.

Then Wentz comes up for his second contract..... That could be a problem.

That figure includes all contracts, but when you only include the top 51 they are about 9.5m over the cap, all they need to do is restructure Cox and trade Foles and they will be under the cap enough to sign their draft picks. They are up against the cap but they have everyone signed and they really have no dead cap space (only 400K). They are fine going into this season and are more than able to keep their team from last year together

I’d say we’re a bit better off than you guys. You have to sign Martin on top of the $17 million you just spent on the tag. Next year you’re looking at losing Tank and Irvin and you have to start looking at Dak and Zeke the next two years. So you lose the heart of your defense and are now looking at paying out $22-25 million in n Dak and possibly $14-15 million on Zeke a year later. All that and what have you accomplished?

Unfortunatley i agree with this, by the way you forgot about re-signing Jaylon Smith should he explode this year (like most are predicting), he will also cost a fortune. Now on the other hand if Dak has another year in 2018 like 2017 i do not see the Cowboys ponying up huge dollars for him, so some of what you are saying may be not come to be

On the Jaylon Smith deal LBs aren’t commanding big deals anymore. He could be had at $6-7 million per. But if Dak has another year like last year paying him will be the least of you problems. Your team absolutely NEED him to be that guy. If he is not the cap won’t matter. You’ll be in the QB Market. Good luck with that having a roster just good enough to not suck.

Remember Martin already counts for 9 mil on the cap this year. Any long term deal should bump that down, along with if they give Law a long term deal too. We have 13m in dead cap between Romo(9), Thornton(2) and Carroll(2) this year that will be off the books next year.
By the time Zeke(year 4 or 5) and Dak his FA, Dez is a free agent(if still here) along with Sean Lee and maybe Witten is finally retired.
Not to mention Tyron Smith and Crawfords dead cap has dropped considerably by that time, so if he can't stay healthy cutting him doesn't kill us $$ wise.

Now add in the restructures the FO loves to do, we aren't that bad cap wise to keep the good players we have.
Success is a different story but not really with the Jones boys post salary cap era.

Ahhhh.... Not really.
Cowboys are in far better shape than the Eagles are in the next few years at this point.
Check Spotrac.

Cowboys are at $168 million this year. That includes the TAG for D Law and the auto extension for Martin.
Cowboys are at $121 million for 2019. And $55 million under. Plus add in $10 million extra on the CAP in 2019.

Eagles are at $192 million for this year - $15 million over. They can get under by doing some cuts and re-structures.
Eagles are at $196 million for 2019. And $19 over at this point. But that will adjust when cuts and re-structures are brought in. Then add in the additional $10 million CAP up next year.

A few restructures and cuts - no worries.

You keep forgetting about how many players are under contract. We have the vast majority this year already signed. And next you we have most under contract. Those projections can only count exiting contracts. You have more to sign so you space will not be what it is now.

You can try and put lipstick on a pig to convince yourself but Philadelphia has cap issues going forward that will limit them as far as personnel moves.

Even if we are limited (which we are not) we are better than you. And hasn’t being a cowboy fan taught you that the cap keep be manipulated? Do you think Jerry is better at that than Howie? LMAO.

It has historically gone up 10 million every year but if goes up less than that some of these teams will be in trouble.
 
One thing to note, trading Foles before the league year starts won’t get them under the cap. The Eagles have to be under the cap before the start of the new league year and any trades won’t be consummated until after the new year starts.

So to get under the cap by next week, they have to cut and restructure guys.
