Can anyone explain to me, in technical terms, what the major difference between their philosophies are?

Is Capers closer to a Parcells-style defensive philosophy than Phillips?

What exactly is it that separates Phillips and Capers as far as running a defense goes?

Because that's really what I see as the choice right now. Either Capers or Phillips is our DC (rather than Capers or Stewart). Either we want Phillips to continue running his system, or we want to bring in Capers, go forward with his philosophy, and let Phillips just manage the team.

I'd be really interested to hear if someone had some insight on this.

Capers employs more Zone Blitz schemes. Both try and control the same run gaps. Wade's more aggressive overall.

I actually heard that Capers runs a similar two gap system like Parcells ran, but it has more zone blitzing. Even if Capers comes on board the team will continue to run Wade's one gap scheme. All the coaches may have some input to add to it from there, Wade even mentioned that in his pc/interviews.

capers will not be the man in charge. wade will. capers will help teach wades style.capers has been an assistant before, he can handle doing things someone elses way
