Philly defense last 2 yrs, what are rebuild might look like

Edge-Nolan Smith, Phillips/Josh Sweat (Ez might be our Nolan Smith, but we don't have a Phillips/Sweat)
Linebacker-Baun, Dean/Burks/Campbell (Baun is considered an elite coverage linebacker, we don't have such a player)
Slot-DeJean (considered the best slot corner in the game)
Corners-Mitchell, Slay/Jackson (one elite corner, opposite a veteran starter)
Safety-Blankenship, CJ Gardner Johnson/Mukuba/Epps (veteran starters, with one high prospect)

Needs

Edge-we need our Phillips/Sweat pass rusher. Both players are considered good but not elite.
Linebacker-we need that high end coverage linebacker that has range patrolling the middle of the field
Slot-might be the most important position in the scheme, will Bland move back or will they find someone else?
Corner-could Revel potentially become that elite corner? Not a bad idea to add a quality veteran to the position.
Safety-think Blankenship is a lock to sign do they pair him with a high pick like the Eagles did with Mukuba?

I could see Terrell being in play at 20. I think McCoy and Delane have the skill set to thrive in the slot. Not alot of usuage there though

I agree, might be the best fit for the slot position over the others. Also, McMillian from Denver is a restricted fa who crossed paths with Parker. You would think Denver lets him walk as they just drafted Barron.

I'm hoping they bring in someone like Odafe Oweh at edge.

Frees us up for hopefully Styles or Downs at 12.

Downs can play the slot for us when needed if he happens to be there at 12 but Styles seems more likely as of right now. Ideal for me would be to trade down and get Keionte Scott. Not sure where he goes right now (early day 2 is my best guess). Let's us add another pick and fills the largest holes left on D.

I don’t think 3 man front is a true representation of the Eagles D. Those 3 DT’s were not on the field at the same time anywhere near the majority of the time.
Have the Eagles used lighter edges that will on occasion stand like in a 3-4? Yes. But for the most past the Eagles ran a traditional nickel in terms of alignment

Yes, 3 man line is more against the run, nickel will have 4 rushers.

Yeah I hear people say that but Milton, David and Carter weren’t on the field all the time with each other. Milton was a reserve and a luxury. No brained pick in the draft not sure why he wasn’t picked here but whatever lol.
