With all the money they paid Michael Vick and those other free agents, they are stuck with this core, or at the very least will have a slow and costly rebuilding.

They're stuck with the QB, no question. But their core is fine. They have good talent on that team. They need to get stronger along the OL and their defense needs a new LB corp and a couple of safeties.

Oh, and a real coordinator.

If they lose Jackson, I'd make a serious effort to add a dynamic wideout into the mix. Maclin isn't it. He's the compliment to the real talent.

They really are not as many guys are one a one year deal and the gauranteed money for the rest is not that bad. They are not cutting Babin, Jenkins, Nnamdi or Vick.

As bad as Philly has looked they're still without question one of the most talented teams in football. They need to upgrade their offensive line, linebacking core, and they need a defensive coordinator. If they do those three things they should have a much better season next year.

This is such a myth. What talent do they have. McCoy has talent, the receivers do if they aren't asked to be route runners but I see very little talent on that team. I see a lot of hyped talent but actual talented players not very many.

Are you blind?

On offense they have as much speed as I've ever seen.

McCoy - Top flight RB

Jackson, Maclin, Avant, Celek, and Smith - Very good recieving core

Defensively they've got holes but they also have some great players

Babbin, Cole - Two of the premiere pass rusher

Nnamdi - Yes he's struggled, but that's cuz of how they're using him. He's still as good as any DB IMO. They need to use him right as a cover corner he's not a ballhawk.

Samuel - Probably won't be back, but the guy is still a very good corner. He's obviously declined, but he's not done by any means.

I don't know their entire roster off the top of my head, but I consider the following players to be high quality:

Trent Cole
Jason Babin
Namdi A
DRC
Asante Samuel
Lesean McCoy
Desean Jackson
Jeremy Maclin
Jason Peters
Michael Vick

That is not a bad roster at all. They have a good QB (good enough to get you into the playoffs but not All-Pro), a good LT, two good pass rushers, 3 good cornerbacks, 2 good WRs and 1 All-Pro level RB.

They can very quickly become a contender again but they need to become a better team and not just a collection of good players, IMO.

You are severely overrating their roster just like the media did. They are 3-6 for a reason. The talent isn't what it was hyped to be. Are you blind? The standings and the record and the losses don't lie.

Perhaps but the difference between winning and losing games in the NFL is not large.

This same team won the NFC East last year and nearly beat the SB winners in the playoffs.

You also can look at our situation from last year. We started 1-7 last year and have gone 10-7 since then without wholesale roster changes.

The Eagles need some help at LB and OL and one run plugger on the DL. Combine that with a new DC and I can see them contending for the NFC East again next year with Vick at QB.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving franchise

they are stuck with Vick for ONE more year..make sure you guys know that..the eagles may have paid him a TON..but just about ALL of his guaranteed money is paid after next year

Yes, he's just the most productive and consistent one. Not the best one though.

lol

Cowboys took Djax off their draft board. Can't see any way they'd be interested in him now
