Philly Kicker gets ROCKED

You do realise that is Saverio Rocca. He's a former Australian Rules football player, and would have suffered hits like that every other week during his career WITHOUT armor.

Not a big deal for him to be honest, he isn't your typical kicker who's barely dealt with contact through their career.

No he wouldn't. Why would nhe be hit by somebody wearing pads? Or a helmet?

If that hit wasn't preseason yer man would have been done for it.

nice vid, though its 3-4 years old

Glad someone else caught it. I did not know if my memory was going or it was a strong case of deja vu. :laugh2:

Helmet to helmet and a complete and utter cheapshot with the intent to injure. I would have suspended him for four games and fine the hell out of him and warn him that if he does that again, he will be suspended for a minimum of one year.

Not every hit would have been as full on as the one he got. But plenty are pretty close, and without protection. Hits above are regular occurance, as players in Aussie football (not the same as rugby) need much more 360 degree awareness than in the NFL and are therefore much more vulnerable to being blind sided.

And what does that have to do with the NFL and their rules?

No way man. Look at it again, the only thing that stops him from landing on the crown of his noggen was his legs hitting the tackler in the chest. With his helment coming off he would have done some serious damage to his neck. You can't use your body as a weapon like that without pads.

Coach should have told him to keep his head on the swivel.

I agree. Damn near a spear, IMO. That dude is a complete 'cat'.

Interesting development... that is Antoine Barnes that takes out Rocca in the video... and the Eagles just traded with the Ravens to get him on their roster.
