Wendell Smallwood and Josh Huff are special team studs. Small sample sizes (due to it being early in the season), but Smallwood averages 46.3 yards per return on 3 returns (long of 86 yards - TD); Huff averages 38.0 yards per return on 5 returns (Long of 98 yards - TD).

Special teams have won them at least 2 games. We have to control this phase of the game. How is our kickoff coverage teams? This is my only concern vs Philly.

The Packers almost broke a return against the Cowboys. It was probably a punt, but I don't remember for certain.

If I had to pick, I think I'd prefer the last name 'Huff' to 'Smallwood.' How 'bout you guys?

That Huff return v. MIN was pretty great. They're ST units are good, no doubt. It seems like our kick/punt coverage has been a lot better this year. But I agree, that that's an area where we ought to have some concern. I keep waiting for Lucky (I like 'Whitehead' better than 'Smallwood,' too, btw, though not by much) to break one off. He seems to be flirting with it, but hasn't quite made it happen yet.

Your reason for concern is well grounded, friend! But trust me when I tell you this much:. The E-girls fan base is changing their underwear EVERY TIME THEY THINK ABOUT DEZ BRYANT stepping on the battlefield,,,,OH,YES!

this is basically how Eagles have been winning games for past few years because it certainly isn't their offense. Eagles have 1 offensive TD in last 8 quarters. Wentz is looking like rookie now. Its special teams and defense for Eagles.

This is how I see it too Wood. Wentz slowly coming back to Earth. He doesn't have the OL, Zeke, or playmakers Dak has and it's starting to show. I'm not worried about their offense. They got a good defense and play good special teams. That's how they compete.

agreed. After talking with Eagles fans if there is one thing they are worried about its Zeke. They are concerned about his ability to take it to house when teams gets aggressive with blitz. With Eagles being a blitz-happy defense its something to keep your eye on.

I mean the TD return each they have is always worrisome but when you avg it out, their other returns aren't scary at all

If you have heard nothing about the Special Teams coverage units, that usually means they are doing a good job.

Agreed. I'm sure the coaches are talking about their kick returners. I don't want to give them a short field. Anything can go wrong for our defense if that happens. I want them to have to drive 70+ yards everytime, if possible.

Exactly. If we lose sunday it will be because of their special teams or a defensive TD or both.

That's how they beat the Pats last year. And sproles scares the heck out of me
