Photos of JPP hand emerge

I feel sorry for him. I mean he's an idiot and he has no one to blame but himself. But the timing of this couldn't have been any worse for him. And man does that hand just look gross.

I understand what you mean, you don't wish this on anyone. But Giants do have a few Darwin winners or finalists, like Plaxico Buress shooting himself in the leg.

He is out for the year I would assume.

I'm gonna say he is able to play this year. Whether the giants let him is another story. A lot of healing happens in 4 months... Less than 4 months actually.

Dude is never going to be the same player.

Well that's the thing... He was OSS than stellar the OSS two years or so..... So.... What are we really saying?

I don't think so. It's been reported he has had multiple procedures since the accident and been getting skin grafts. He supposedly had a procedure done right before he met the Giants officials so its probably from that.

I just looked at another photo from a slightly different angle and it kinda looks like if he were to extend his fingers, that it would be shorter than his ring finger. It might be the camera angle, but I don't think it is.

Those current pics match those super gruesome early ones, just with some healing and skin grafts over time. The guy is done.

Wake up, mods, this is NFL stuff.

signed, a forumite humbled by your omipotent magnificence

Feel bad for the guy, he was a heck of a player and still might be again some day with a lot of luck and dedication, but I don't think he'll ever be the same nor will he play this year. I could be wrong though.

On a side note... has it been reported on what exactly happened in the accident? I know I saw the van with a lot of what looked like more professional type stuff, but I haven't heard anything about the accident itself. Would be interesting to know what exactly he was doing when it occurred. I would assume he was doing something dumb obviously, but you never know. Clearly seems to be just a case of he was handling things that he most likely didn't have the appropriate knowledge to be doing, but it would be interesting to know exactly what happened.

Not sure, just going off the reports. Looking at the photos, he will be grabbing with only the 3 weakest fingers. It's a rough road ahead if/when he plays football again. The Giants offered to pay him a portion of his money to go on the NFI list and he turned it down. I wonder if he looks back on that and really ends up regretting it.

Were those super gruesome ones ever confirmed as real, I know a saw a few pictures after it happened and then some later, but I thought I read somewhere that a lot were fake? I check on google, but after a few pics it becomes a little much to stomach.

The look on his face saying....there go 60 million bucks!

I would like to know as well. In that last JPP thread a couple of posters said he was being stupid and thats what caused the accident. I've read as much as I could find and can't find anything detailing it. I called them out and could only get I'm not doing your research for you google it. I'm going to assume nobody outside of the few that were there know exactly what happened.

I keep looking but can't find anything, I figure it just hasn't been said exactly what happened yet. I would assume it's just conjecture that he was doing something dumb. Obviously, I can see why they would think that though, looking at that picture of the van and knowing that it generally it is your own ignorance during a fireworks mishap, but I can't find anything about it either.

I'm just wildly curious, mainly because I'm a big fan of fireworks as well, and like to put on mini fireworks shows on the 4th. Obviously not to his extent from that van picture, but you know... just wondering. Just really sad as well, because he's clearly more avid about it than I am, so he must really love fireworks and something like this happened. Even if it was his clearly his own ignorance that caused the accident, it's still sucks for him. People just need to be smarter when they do this stuff, those bigger fireworks aren't sparklers or even just firecrackers... this stuff happens every year and yet people still don't learn.

Sorry for getting off subject there at the end. lol.
