Pic that CBS sports put on their Facebook page

It is what it is, we are a mediocre organization with a mediocre HC and team, no other way around it.
Garrett can thank Romo for at least being mediocre, we saw this year what he really is without him, facts cannot be argued.
I really feel bad for Romo amd Witten.

Mediocre GM leads to mediocre results

But he didn't and there was no hope he would get one. Dallas has one right now. He got injured. He will be back next season. That alone makes a difference for the Cowboys. A couple of free agents and draft picks and Dallas could be back in the playoffs. Things are not as dire as the early 2000s no matter how bad this season record was.

Man, seems like we say that every year.

Pretty much the majority of the teams in the NFL are "a couple of free agents and draft picks" away from the playoffs.

Hell, we were in the playoffs last year and we supposedly had a killer draft and decent FA period.

It is not that simple.

Somethings are simple. When your starting QB only plays in 4 games you aren't likely to be in the playoffs. That part is simple.

I agree that most teams are only a few moves away from the playoffs. That is why I don't think the current situation is dire. I agree getting the right free agents or draft picks this off season isn't simple, but it can be done.

He had a chance to get Drew Brees but god father Jerry gave that pick away for Joey Gagaway.

But this season had nothing to do with Jerry. It was all about players getting hurt and some not playing to their potential.

Jerry always has something to do with it he signed off on Weeden and continued to prop him until he finally had to admit he had limitations.

No, what you said is that we are all spoiled and should be thankful we have trophies so old they are collecting dust thick enough to choke you.

Damn right.

Lombardi Trophies don't lose their shine and the rings don't expire. We've got 5 of them and Jerry played a major role in 3 of those.

Unless you're a youngster who was too young to remember the '90s, you have NOTHING to complain about. You've had it DAMN good and so have I.

Sorry to disappoint you!

I don't understand how they don't show a picture of Romo, Dez and the rest of the injuries we've had. Or is that not click batting?

No matter the picture they show the numbers don't lie. It's not this years injuries alone that lead to that .500 record over that time span

I saw all of them. I also saw what the teams were that led up to them.

Let's just say that what we are seeing now is not a thing like them.

But that's just me.

Yep ... there was a sense of hope even though we went 1-15 in 1989. There was a sense of purpose and direction with Jimmy Johnson leading this team.

There's none of that with this (these) teams. Same old crap over the past 20 years. Throw darts blindly and hope one hits a target. No direction, no purpose. It's literally watching a blind man driving a car.

Back when I was a kid, we walked to school. Both ways! And we were thankful!

Jerry needs to go back and revisit how he won those 3 SB's it was the result of hiring a solid head coach who knew how to build a great team.

Nonsense. He is the same owner now as he was then.

{Trying to keep a straight face}

This I can agree with, only for this year, but we sure can blame the HC, we were the worst team in the league since week 2, let that sink in, yes we had very important injuries but so did the Steelers, Texans, Broncos, Chiefs, Colts, Packers, Seahawks and many other teams, but they all find ways to win some games, and that starts with coaching.
